Hi just ordered one of these.

Anyone have any experience of them? Anyone have one? Anyone got any idea on how it's gonna work!?!?!

Re: Tri PRC 152 MBTIR Replica (Super Gucci)
Think lewbad was referring to the fact you bought it from HK in the rhetoric... As in it will probably be poor quality and is likely to 'work' at best... From their own pics you can see the difference between the RS and clone...
Poor quality molding means it - in all likelihood - won't survive the treatment given to the RS version in those pictures, it might not even be shower proof... Depending on what you paid, it might be worth it just to see what it's like, but asking for peoples experience
after
you've handed your money over? Regret lol?
EDIT: ^^ too late

Re: Tri PRC 152 MBTIR Replica (Super Gucci)
lol it's not the crappy one, it is the Triumph Instruments one
I wanted something Gucci as a treat for me as I am getting back into the game and haven't skirmished in a year... Summer hols from Uni coming up and I wanted a pukka radio!
I hope you are wrong (in the nicest way!) but will post up bumf when I get it. Just know these are new and wanted to see if anyone else had one?

Well I'm sure there's plenty of people that would be interested to see what you think of it so maybe post a nice review when you've had a play, people in the USSF thread might be interested in purchasing...

Re: Tri PRC 152 MBTIR Replica (Super Gucci)
I wanted a really nice radio and wasn't looking especially for a USSF one but of all the radios out there this seems to be the best mil looking one with best specs. I am aware that a fancy Motorola or ICOM would do much of what this does for a lower price but not with as much style and not with the six pin mil spec connector

The copy of real deal gear market has really come on in the last few years with the quality of the copies being made to a high quality now,I'm thinking of getting one myself tbh yes they aren't cheap nor are they the stupid price people are asking for the real deal ones it's the sort of middle ground which is always good,I will be very interested in a review on one

Two of my mates have them. And aside from being a complete pig to set up, theyre absolutely amazing.
They were talking to eachother from 5+ miles away. Says it all really.

Problem with this radio is that it has NO compatiblilty with real headsets or speaker mics. Which at the end when you buy it thats want to you want use it for? the U283 plug supposedly is a real one (cant say if it is or not) and the design is in a way that if you want to access the internals for wiring upgrades etc you will never be able to! Also forgot to mention theres an impendce issue with it like the United Star version so your speaker turns on when using Thales speaker mics (which is crap) also the PTT looks like its home! Another let down..(you dont get the whip attennas -for that price they should supply one) the only thing i love about this radio is that you can program it without the use of an external software but if i was to recommend a radio it would be the United Star PRC148. But again that has its own issues!

The manufacturer has released its own range of reconfigured real steel parts that are fully compatible, but I also believe the impedance issues can be fixed within the accessory as opposed to the radio but this is just what I have read and I know little about electronics.

Most of these chinese clone parts come with high impendence which is surprising but TRI have only released one real Speaker mic thats compatible with all these MBTIR clones..but if you have peltors and comtacs you wont have much luck unless you swap out your mic for an element one.
Overall its a good unit just not worth the price
