  • which knee pads?

i'm currently switching to a desert load out and wanted some kneepads.
Looking for feedback on whats comfortable, whats gonna stay on my knee and what is reasonably affordable.

Had some cheapy DPM ones before and they fell apart and were so uncomfy i never wore.

    Cheers

You pay for quality and you shouldn't cheap out on safety equipment so go for something like BlackHawk V2 Knee Pads
or DKP Hard Shell Knee Pads i can vouch for these as i have a set and hey have help up to everything i have thrown at them.

I rock Hatch XTAC knee (& elbow) pads. I like 'em, light weight and low profile while getting the job done and looking the business.

I also have some of the Blackhawk! Neoprene ones. They're pretty nice, but have never skirmished them (see below) so no idea how they'd hold up, but considering the manufacturer they'd probs be gravy.
        * Ordered the V2's but got sent these by mistake and never got round to sending them back...

Alta knee pads always seem to get good reviews

I imported mine and my friends Alta Lock kneepads, but they come in every colour under the camoflage rainbow.
so worth the wait. comfy, don't stain.
Great thing is they aren't velcrow so if you need to adjust them, they don't .....

And they don't slip down (at least on me) when I do them tight enough.
Cost about 25 dollars without shipping too, so not expensive

I have vipers and I wouldn't recommend them.

Blackhawk v2's all the way, have a black and a tan pair, comfy and long lasting. Quite cheap too if you look on the bay of the E!

thanks all, i like the look of the Alta proguard but i'm gonna have trouble sourcing them.

The ones i've been using were Alta copies, elastic one strap, nylon the other, didn't get on witht them at all comfore wise.

Think i'm moving to the Blackhawks at the moment, the Neoprene ones.

                    Cheers guys

Have just got a pair of Gtac Neoprene pads, not had chance to try them in the Field, but they are light, so don't pull down as much as the plastic type.

I went for "DKP Hard Shell" ones.

Most comfortable ones I have ever owned, they come in black, coyote and OD.

                          Re: which knee pads?

Has anyone tried the new Viper Kneepads on neoprene? AFAIK, they're carbon copies of the BLACKHAWK! ones, but I'm wondering if it's worth it, as I've been through 4 pairs of kneepads, and only two came somewhat close to satisfying me.
I'd like to know if these slip down much, as I run around a lot, and have skinny legs, so there's never enough velcro.
I've tried a pair of kneepads that use cip on buckles, but they also slip down, no matter how much i tighten them, and even crisscrossing the straps doesn't help.
The only solution I found was to just tape them on tightly with black duct tape, but it kinda defeats the purpose.

BLACKHAWK!, tbh. Don't wear them for airsoft though.

been wondering how you spelt that.

missed this post earlier, i like the look of them in desert. Pretty reasonable price too.
Gonna have to bite the bullet and go for some soon or i'll be using my old Viper ones again that the hard layer has fallen off.

                              Cheers
