i had earlier done a post on this, about what i was going to get etc, but its gone now.

so i thought i'd start a new thread, as i've finally got a resi kit!

so the original idea, was to have a white polo shirt, with black tactical vest and black combat trousers, but this changed slightly, due to the fact that my local site had a zombie shoot on firday night past, and royal mail have lost the tactical vest (no worries, i have them by the balls as its recorded), so on friday morning i went out to find something cheap, and quick to use, this is how it turned out...



i likes it very much, but it did bring up another problem, i had no place to store mags etc, so i had to use a dump bag with the sling feed through the belt loops of the trousers, very make shift, but workable.

i really liked/like it, and i'm thinking instead of the chest rig, and actually building a tac belt, the viper one looks like a good start.

i'll see if anyone took any pictures that night, to show the full out load, but if theres not, heres a list of what i had/used

- white polo shirt with S.T.A.R.S patches
- black combats
- OD green "flak" vest
- dump bag
- bandana
- webtex fingerless leather gloves

weapons

- TM S.T.A.R.S m9
- TM colt python
- TM mp5 with built in torch (on lone from a mate)

we used real ammo amounts, so the mp5, had only 30rds etc, and very little ammo through out the night.

quite liked using the MP5, not my usual style of weapon, but as of now i have no primary weapon for this kit, i'm still juggling about weather to get a TM shotty, tananka gas shotty a CAW revolving nade launcher or an MP5 of my own.

Sounds great, im thinking of doing the same thing myself! But i was looking for a similar look to Chris in RE5 but your idea has got me thinking about the original RCPD Leon costume. Any suggestions on both? Oh and whats the Stars M9 like and what would you suggest for a rifle, perhaps an M4?

don't know about chris in the new resi 5, leon from 2, you'd need to find a blue tactical vest, the patches are easy to get. quick look on google pictures you can see the new chris, and old leon.

the stars m9 is nice, has a great blow back, but its light and "plastic'y", but it looks the part.

rifles wise, if your goin by the games, theres a few options, M4A1 with adjustible stock and vertical fore grip / thompson, with the 20's kit and drum mag / ak47 no stock / gattling gun / G36k (dead aim if i remember correctly). most common SMG is the TMP.

if your going for a movies look, watch them, cuz theres loads of different guns.

This is the best picture i could find of RE5 Chris, should'nt be as hard as i thought (ignoring the unbelievable size of his "guns"!). I might try the leon costume as well, sounds like it could look really great. Thanks for the advice on the rifle, i'll probablly go for the M4 although the G36C does for some reason have an RE feel to it i know it wasn't in the game. Thanks for the advice so far regardless, Im definately getting the Samurai Edge as my first airsoft pistol!

Thats not a flak vest chief, thats an old issue jerkin to wear under a flak vest (just in case you were planning on wearing it in a combat zone ).

On the other hand, if you can get hold of one of the old NI issue British army flak vests they really do look the part. If not, a Vietnam issue American flak vest is perfect as its actually the one they use in the second Resi film.

When I had my stars loadout I had white polo shirt from primark with stars patches, black HK tactical vest over a black bullet proof vest (the combination of vest and armour gives you a decent bulk and looks good), hip holstered glock and a marushin Mossberg M500 wood and metal

Well with me being a hardcore Resident Evil fan, here's my best recommendations for guns:


Pistol: Chrome desert eagle, S.T.A.R.S Samurai Edge (or even better, Barry's Custom Samurai edge) or the Tanaka Umbrella magnum revolver

Reason for each gun? Well the Desert Eagle makes it's apperance in the Umbrella Chronicles and also a gun similiar to it appears in RE:3 Nemesis. It's one of the heavy weapons like the Magnum is. The S.T.A.R.S Samurai Edge appears in all of the classic games and the Barry Burton's Custom one looks even nicer. The Tanaka Umbrella magnum revolver appears in all the classic RE's too, as a kind of end-game weapon which kills almost everything.

SMG's: TMP or P90.

Reason for those? Well the TMP appears in RE:4 and the P90 is in one of the RE's I think. The MP5 feels a bit too military-ish so that's why I left it out, plus it's a bit more common.

Assault rifle: M4A1

The only assault rifle I know of which is worthy of being called a Resident Evil gun. This gun was used by Jill in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. I don't count the Resident Evil 4 guns because there are too many of them, plus RE:4 didn't really feel survival horror enough. Was too much overkill there.

Heavy weapons: Minigun, CAW Revolver launcher, M79

Reason for these? The minigun was a secret weapon in RE:3 and the CAW revolver launcher is the PERFECT grenade launcher. It makes it's appearance in most of the RE games and is one of the most used weapons. The M79 appears in the Umbrella chronicles I think and it feels Resident Evil enough to me.

Shotgun: M4 Super 90, M3 Shorty or some kinda wooden pump action shotgun

Reason for these? Well the M4 Super 90 is the Assault Shotgun from RE:1 that you get off Richard. The M3 Shorty is off RE:3 and the wooden pump action shotgun is also off RE:1 before you get the Assault shotgun.


I tried to stick as close to Resident Evil as I could. My definition of Resident Evil is RE:1, RE:3, RE: Zero and the Umbrella Chronicles. I don't count the others because I haven't played RE:2 or Code Veronica, and RE:4 wasn't survival horror enough for my liking. It was too much of an overkill action game. I don't count the movies because they are a disgrace to Resident Evil. Took everything about RE and killed it.

My selection would be:

S.T.A.R.S Samurai edge
CAW revolver launcher
M3 Shorty
Umbrella magnum

That's actually a womens green body warmer there, I know, but it did the job and yes that is a cheap electric DEagle there which is now defunct. I've got a custom made RPD uniform on it's way to me as we speak and I'll post up some pics of me in it when it finally does arrive.

I have a few corrections to make:

The S.T.A.R.S Samurai Edge appears in all of the classic games

It only started appear in the games at RE3, it's not in RE1 or RE2 as it was a retcon.

P90 is in one of the RE's I think. The MP5 feels a bit too military-ish so that's why I left it out, plus it's a bit more common.

The P90 is not in any of the games, the MP5 is a better choice here since it is actually in them.

Umbrella Chronicles horribly horribly butchers the those first three games you have mentioned there. I think you may need to reconsider you self-titled status of hardcore RE fan when you haven't played the most popular game in the series RE2. But I agree with not counting CVX, it was very sucky.

RE loadout, hmmm depends on the type of game, but generally speaking i'd say

- Samurai edge (sidearm) as its got the STARS logo on therefore would match your uniform, failing that get a tactical beretta seeing as STARS are a special tactics team.

- TMP or MP7 (primary CQB) - If you dont want the MP5 then i'd recommend a TMP or similar looking SMG (mp7?). Used by hunk and leon in RE4, it size is good for a special tactics force assigned to a CQB situation and (for particality) in terms of real life easy to hide in public for a sting operation.
It'll also it give you a unique appearance instead of blending in with al the mp5 and p90s out there

- M4a1 (Primary Woodland) - i'd say, as mentioned by Billywu, the M4a1. Seing as not many assualt rifles feature in any RE game, as mentioned by Zementh. the catch being you'll not look as unique in terms of weapons. Straying away from RE abit i'd recommend a G3 for this role. its not to military looking and isnt very common choice at the same time its look, i'd believe, would complement your gear.

the samuria edge is rebecca's standard issue berretta from resi 0.

the umbrella magnum is an unlockible in resi 0.

there are also mac10's and mac11's and a minimi in the games, (resi 1 pc edition)

assult rifles wise, M4A1 and resi CV has an ak47.

infact, later on, if i have time, i will try and make a list of all the guns in resi series i know of.

and someone should really do a resi kit with 2 gold lugars...

nice too meet some other resi geeks too.

#1 - The Samurai edge appeared in the REmake on the Gamecube (my personal definition of Resident Evil. It was perfect) and RE:Z. Rebecca had it, Jill had it, Chris had it and the custom one you unlocked for completeing the game that fired 3 times quick? That looked to me like Barry's custom Samurai edge. So yes, they DID appear before RE:3.

#2 - The Umbrella Chronicles doesn't 'butcher' RE at all. The RE movies do. UC had a good story to it, I liked it. It's not survival horror but it's definatly worthy of the title 'Resident Evil'.

will do resi 4, but again, theres loads, i'll see my mate, hes got dead aim and out break.
