I'm 5'10 and I still find the m16 a little too long if you know what I mean.

im 5'5, i managed to use a bar that is 1.2 metres long, weights about 3 or 4 times as much, and you're having problems with an m16?

VFC BAR weighs 5kg mate.
M16s are about 1m long. G&P M16 weights in at 3.5kg.

I'm using a 250mm suppressor at the end of the barrel during skirmishing, thats probably why, I have a tendency to knock it around at trees hence why I find it slightly difficult to move around in heavy woodland.
