  • Light(ish) weight woodland vest

So I am thinking of changing my woodland loadout at the moment I run a Artkis 1601, which by the way is a great vest. I am just a bit fed up with it and it is a bit bulky. So I have narrowed it down the following and just wondered if anyone could comment them:

    1. Swiss arms chest rig/TICAS - probably the biggest of them all but I am hoping its low profile would help.
    2. Something like a JPC/Viper special forces vest - I like this for the shoulder cut out, and it keeps my sides free.
    3. Condor recon chest rig - I like the minimalist look of this and I'd probably buy the hydration pouch eventually to make it look like swiss arms, but worried it won't enough capacity and its that small it just might bouncy around too much whilst I move.

For woodland I usually run either: M4, M14 or sniper with a pistol or two and I kind of like to keep the my sides free so I can easily draw my pistol etc...

Just to through a spanner into the works I have an MBSS which I initially was going to use for Urban expect it might fit bill here.

Would love to hear all your thoughts.

Well, firstly, what's your budget? No point in people recommending £80 rigs if your budget is £20 for example

I'd suggest something MOLLE, as you need 5.56 & 7.62 mag pouches

Just how many mags do you carry?

How often do you snipe? Problem is, ideally you need stuff on your sides when you're prone
