can any one id this unit?

Hi all here are some photos of a guy i know he service in an american sf unit...no idea what one as he wouldnt say but the patch he wears is not one i know of and looks a little odd.




his gear may not be a clue as i think this is down time gear his normal op or so iv been told would mean he would wear different kit.

what i know is that hes paid well, spends most of his time sitting around/training and not in the feild..was posted in germany for a while (most yank soldiers pass out throught germany befor heading into the conflict zone-alot of training goes on there) and i have heard he way be some kind of recon trooper...i was thinking maybe a tier 2 unit.

so does anyone have any idea what the unit patch is.

He is US Airforce, as to what unit I have no idea.

He is wearing the USAF Digi Tiger stripe, as far as I know no one else uses it for camo. Although they issue UCP OTV's and pouches just like the army.

My guess is one of the helicopter rescue units.

The patch is an image from Star Wars (Boba Fett's Bol Skull shoulder pad emblem) and probably not a unit badge. As for the unit, ain't got a clue.

He has no unit patch that I can see. Could it be a softer with some very good photoshop skills?

Well done that man, I was double checking when you posted. I'd only seen that image on the back of a addidas tracky top I was trying to get last week.

He may be a Parachute Jumper or 'PJ', basically the paramedic who flies in the medic extraction blackhawks. They tend to wear multicam but do come under the 'SF' banner i believe due to the varied nature they are able to insert.

Technical name is ABU, airmans battle uniform.
Alot of units have their own patches custom made, doesn't really mean anything.
Personally, I wouldn't get too excited thinking "oh, SF"
If he does get extra money then pararescue/csar could be the reason (basic US military pay isn't great).

You're right Snowdrop, I'm not sure on the Yank's system but if its anything like ours, he will get paid more for being air-crew, and again more for handling casualties. All adds up over the months.

Basic pay for a grunt is pretty dire though from what they tell me.

As said he's wearing a Mandalorian patch from Star Wars. Not sure he's even real Military to be honest. No Identifying marks.

My thoughts, no ranks patch or unit insignia to be seen. My guess is softer.
