Malaysian Camo set?
12 October, 2010, 21:39
Looking to get a set similar to that of the Grup Gerak Khas (malaysian special forces) as my family are from there, and I like the pattern, wondering if anyone could identify this for me or give me any help in identifying and then finding some cheers

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
That not US Woodland
OP, if your family is from Malaysia then perhaps they or your relatives would be the best people to ask?

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
i cant see much of a diffrence to be honest, perhaps the MSF camo is abit brighter, with a larger amount of tan but overall i'd very similar stuff, perhapse if there was afew closer pictures we could go more in depth and see the diffrences more clearly. however i looks pretty similar to me :S
'wow, that's Malaysian special forces camo right there, where d you get it?'
'... Its U.S woodland...'
'oh...'
lol j/k

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
It does seem to be based on US Woodland but the pattern is different

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
ahh i see now.
i would certainly say that's near enough a U.S woodland copy/clone/immitation, bar the actual pattern which seems to be based on a more 'stripy' design.

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
We were discussing this pattern in a different thread. Turns out the Malay SF use what is known as "Woodland Tiger" AKA "Zebra Camo". As the name implies, it uses M81 US Woodland colours but arranged in a striped manner resembling the tiger stripe patterns of yore.

Re: Malaysian Camo set?
Hi Jacob, I'm new here but have been on Arnie's for a while. I actually found this thread because I was searching for a source of the old Malaysian M70 brushstroke pattern headgear (I'm originally from Malaysia)!
As it happens, I have a spare set of the current Malaysian zebra pattern if you're still after a set and you happen to be approximately the same size as me (~6' height, 32-34 waist) but I need to check out the sales rules here first!
Ming.
