SA80 / L85A2 Sling fitting
21 May, 2009, 23:25
I thought I'd share the pic below and perhaps get feedback for any other type of sling fitting for the SA80.
Does anyone know what the strap at the right hand side is use for? I could never get it to do anything useful!

It's a quick release, should you need to remove your rifle in a hurry just pull up on it and voila

Re: SA80 / L85A2 Sling fitting
Its for releasing the sling to get into a more comfortable shooting position.
should release into a one point sling, if the gun hits the floor then uve done it wrong

That's the black plastic clip at the left, he's asking about the loop at the right on the adjuster bit

Isn't it just for hanging it up?After a long day's combat, you just want to throw your rifle on the coat hanger and put your feet up!
Wipe them out.All of them.

Correct. It's to grip and tighten/release the sling with. Best/most versatile sling in the world IMHO. You can even ski with it. That military/biathlon skiing thingy wassit callit! :D
