  • Eye protection that allows glasses to be worn

    Morning all,

I've been browsing for some sort of eye protection that is suitable for wearing prescription glasses underneath.

Contact lenses are fine but I get much better vision out of my glasses so if there is some solution for allowing this then I'd be able to see much much more!

Can anyone reccomend a particular product/does something like this even exist? haha

    Cheers

I would recommend mesh goggles as they dont fog up and are big enough to support glasses underneath.

Maybe something along the lines of the Vipers new multi change glasses that have a fitment for lenses.

Take the fitment to the opticians they will be able to make some lenses that fit and this fit inside the shooting glasses.

I wear the glasses you get from DIY shops for about £4 they fit over glasses and have air slits in the side so they dont fog much and are completely clear plastic, just make sure they comply with EN166 as that will make them BB proof in simple terms.

Re: Eye protection that allows glasses to be worn

I recently (last month) received an order from a HK site, and included in this order was some "Daisy" C3 shooting glasses.

I thought at $10 USD posted, what sort of protection would they give? Not much would be most people's opinion, especially coming from a website that specialises in dealing with china made stuff.

But after some google research proving to be almost useless (but showed how much the Guarder C3 glasses failed, which made me worried) I headed onto Youtube where some Russians were testing the Daisy ones.

At one part of the test, a live firing sidearm was used and shot at the lens. Believe it or not, there was no penetration or shatter. What? That's incredible. They also showed how the round went through several pieces of cardboard.

I did my own tests with a hammer on the clear lens and sure as hell, they didn't break. I'm very impressed.

Furthermore, I was shot in the glasses a few times on the last game. There aren't any marks on the lens', and I'm still here safe and sound. The frame didn't snap and the lens' didn't pop out, like on the Guarder.

They come with a prescription insert which is very handy for those spectacle wearers, as well as 4 interchangeable lens' - Yellow, Grey Tinted (Smokey Black), Blueish Red tinted and clear.
