mainly on the thigh cos belt mounts are a biatch to reach under a carrier.
youre right on that part although i dont really care about looking proffesional, just badass
if i can find one easy ill go for the SLS if not serpa'a the next best.
oh one more question will an meu fit a stndrd 1911 holster both with and without a silencer (apart from making the draw longer)

Safariland without a doubt. I have 2 myself one for 1911 and one for m9, awesome bits of kit.

the internet, i was looking at the same thing.
apparently any railed 1911 no light safariland will work.

A MEU will fit a SL for a standard 1911 as long as the MEU doesnt have a railed frame.
You may have to trim a little bit off the top of the holster on the left hand side to make it fit with the ambi safety tho. Its a 10 second job with a dremel and I think the newer SL fit ambi safeties from the factory.
As for the silencer, that's a no. The gap on the bottom is only 15mm. You'd fit a pistol with a threaded outer barrel just not a silencer.
