Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
More of a weapons list rather than a kit list, and you missed the Springfield rifle, used by the USMC up until late 1944

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
I was referring to post above mine
I just noticed he didn't quote your post, just copied it and as it started "Ok, this is a kit guide for the U.S.M.C." and it was just a weapons list.
That'll teach us both to quote posts in future

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
oh, also just to let you know, its called an m1919 springfield, with either a3 and a4 and so on...
springfield is an american armoury who made many rifles in the 1800's and rifles like the m14, m1 garand, 1911's ect.
just a tip

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
Actually, wasn't it the M1903 Springfield? The M1919 was the .30cal machine gun wasn't it?

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
tbh i cant remember, i havnt read up on it lately, but there were loads of guns made in 1919, the m(insert year here) stood for the year it was braught into production, the name was ".30 cal browning light machine gun", there was also the m1917 which was also the .30 cal browning light machine gun but there were differences like the grip, watercooled instead of aircooled and so on...
(the 1917 had aircooled aswell. )
the B.A.R. was technically named the m1918 browning automatic rifle LMG
and the 50 cal HMG that are still used in iraq on tanks was either the m1919 or m1918, cant remember that one either.
but your probably right on the springfield, i'll look it up later

Re: ww2 us airborne and infantry loadout guide
nope, thats when john browning first made the .30 cal, the 50 cal ( m2HB ) was made circa 1919 and was a scale up on the .30 cal.
