  • Advice on CQB urban Loadout (well outfit)

Hey everyone I want your advice.

I'm in the process of putting together my outfit for urban CQB and am at a stumbling block as to what to go for.

Basicly I am stuck between an all black Special Ops style getup or a Urban Camo type look.

Now my Vest, thigh holster and drop leg pouches are all black (viper) and while I like the look of urban camo I am thinking the all black look might go better with my boots.

Will a black vest and holsters look out of place on urban camo.

Also any suggestions on suppliers of urban camo?

Its a completely vain dilema I know (pfft appearences) but I guess I just don't want it to look stupid lol

    My advice, stay away from black as it stands out like a sore thumb. I use urban CADPAT and some ACU gear which I have dyed. Pic below;

Greys are far more effective as they blend in with more of the environment, and don't stand out as much as blacks.

Although this depends on the environment, if it is urban CQB in a desert town then grey clearly wouldn't work. So, what site have you got in mind for this gear?

Places like The Mall, reading and Bunker 51, London are the main urban ones I am thinking (I think there are some others around me too)

I like the look of the digital urban you have there I see what you mean about blacks instead of greys, will the black vest that I have currently be ok to dye if I needed to? Or would if be ok to leave the assult vest black and run the urban camo along side it, what kinda dye do you use?

Digital Urban is a good choice:

Black will look fine with most camo's anyway so IMO you'd be fine with the pouches, vest and holster you already have.

        Good luck with it

Blacks are fine, just greys are better at blending in.

A black vest would look pretty good, as a little contrast always works well.

ang as the black doesn't stand out too much then it should be ok, and as you said add a little contrast.

Welcome any more advice you may have

Only other advice is make sure it is comfortable. Nothing worse than paying for a few hours and getting itchy skin!

Make the list but don't include the cost initially - Might put you off!

Trawl through the classifieds to see if anything you've got on the list is there, will end up cheaper.

Camouflage is designed to work at distances of more than 300m. Movement will give you away before your fancy pants. When you are on top of people, you can wear a pink tutu!

Kit placement and skill is what's needed over Camouflage!

In other words go for something you think looks cool as in urban you pretty much see the op4 unlike in woodland where you can argue "which will hide me in this bush better, MARPAT or Multicam", with the kit you described you could go with the old style urban cammo like the Marines wore in the Rock.

I'm planning to run a magpul style range shooting loadout for cqb now. No need to carry so much stuff with my plate carrier.

Primary, Mags, pistol, bfgs, and that's it!
