Re: Multicam Tigerstripes
I can see him!
Read about this somewhere before. The company do not like to use the word Multicam (probably because they'll get sued) but it is pretty damn similar :D
Is it a Bird?
Is it a Plane?
Is it Multicam?
No..... It's UNICAM! Or X-Camo! Certainly not Multicam, lol.

Re: Multicam Tigerstripes
Theyre protos atm.
and a direct quote from SS
"Two patterns that met these specifications were readily available; MultiCam® and the Army’s Universal Camouflage Pattern. Recently, many have called for the complete elimination of UCP yet touted the performance of MARPAT. As we will discuss later, the patterns are the same, just with different pigments. If MARPAT performs well, UCP could be tweaked in order to enhance its characteristics and that is exactly what the Army did."
this is what they might be changing to apart from the MC
edit:
another SS quote
"By the end of September 2009, the Army will provide two alternate uniforms to designated battalions of Soldiers serving in Operation Enduring Freedom. The two alternate uniforms will utilize the MultiCam® and Universal Camouflage Pattern – Delta (UCP-D). The UCP-Delta pattern was derived from the standard UCP by reducing the Urban Grey and Sand colors, and adding Coyote Brown which constitutes 30% of the pattern."
This is the UCP Delta pattern competing against Multicam

Z1 and MMUK are the only two airsoft shops in the world remember! :D
Google the names I gave. The X-Camo BDU's are from States but very cheap. $36 each for top/bottoms. Be interesting to know the quality of the kit!

Re: Multicam Tigerstripes
ALSO the US Navy are testing the waters with their new Digi Cam NWU (Navy Working Uniform)
THEIR are also RUMOURS about a Temperate Digital Tigerstripe pattern being made, BUT THESE ARE RUMOURS and I've only seen one pair in the flesh.

Re: Multicam Tigerstripes
Its called Socom camo at the moment I think, looks to have been developed in relation to multicam in the same way as marpat was with cadpat.
Cant the yanks invent their own modern camo that isn't total w*nk? :p

Re: Multicam Tigerstripes
Sometimes the choice of colours in ACU/UCP seems somewhat ill concieved (Granted it can and does work well in some environments, not just Granny's sofa) ... but thier "Lets add brown!" approach to the newer scheme really does nothing to help in the environments it doesn't work well in (Woodland specifically, though in shaded areas it can perform to an acceptable standard) .. Surely a shade of green (OD?) would have been a better choice than CB, even if it was nothing more than adding a slight green tint to the urban grey?
