  • osprey inserts?

ok so i just recently got my hands on new osprey body Armour cover and wondering if you guys got any suggestions on what to bulk it out with ie compatibly dummy plates or filler? or ney tips on what other stuff could use to bulk it out because it doesn't look right without plates in or filler goes all "flappy" haha

Foam is a bit too bendy, so a lot of people use bits of carpet.

                Lead.

If you're going for "the look", you might as well haul the weight too.

yea i have some SAPI plates for my RICAS - they are just hollow plastic maybe 3 cm thick - damn it makes it SO comfy, mags dont stick in you when you go prone and the thing just sits perfectly on the body

Although I use the replica plates you've linked (You shouldn't link other retailers on this forum!) I would suggest getting carpet samples instead, not only is it cheap but you can also cut them to size AND they keep you warmer :P

The replica plates are good, but if you have a knobbly spine or ribs it starts to rub even through your BDUs.

Camping mat, doubled up and cut to the shape of the osprey, to act as the kevlar insert. Get some Toy Soldier SAPI plates, fill them with water and stick some bluetack and tape on the top to stop the water coming out and your sorted. Weight, and it looks the part.
