I agree with this, from the guys I know and have seen. The 'jean' fad has died out. It was mainly used by 'shitty' company's or contractors that weren't operating in public view or low priority ops.
Dress code and uniforms have come in to have a more professional look about themselves . Take this for example,

These guys here are working for blackwater, providing a private security detail for a group of journalist in 'Kabul' I believe. Dress Code very similar, little to heavy in my eyes for a PMC but, you carry what you need and is guy Carres pens in his molle!

On the other hand, this is the less professional look, but yet still blackwater! Confusing I know right lol

it seems a Blackhawk! Industries plate carrier...I don't remember the model, is the biggest one! ("Strike", maybe??)
