Marsoc
23 April, 2014, 20:20
Hey I know there is a special forces thread but know marsoc is becoming more popular so didn't know if you wanted to put all stuff in here. Plus I have a few quick questions to anyone in the know.
I know marsoc are issued their own version of the 1911 meu but is there much leeway on this seen this photo. Of a guy with a glock asuming 17 on my phone can't see all too well with crye gun clip.

Also painted weapons? Iv read no but have seen a few pictures of marsoc with painted or at least dusted.
Cheers will upload progress pictures when I get a few more bits .

Re: Marsoc
that's a glock 19.
painted guns are kosher, guys don't 'dust' their guns in real life, Afghanistan does it for them.

Re: Marsoc
That's why it's called dusting. It's wear and sand dust.
As a general rule of thumb; SF chose what they like and just go with it. They have access to a huge arsenal, so can afford to get picky when it comes to personal inventory.

Re: Marsoc
May well be wrong. But looking at how much of the muzzle is protruding from the gunclip, I would say that's a glock 17 not 19 personally.

MARSOC operate a lot with the ANA who wear woodland so it helps them fit in with them. Also makes them slightly less clearly western
They had some custom Crye M81 kit made up but doesn't seem to be doing well in the field so a lot have gone back to BDUs and raid BDUs

Hmmmm
Makes sense to blend in.
Last thing you want on a battlefield is to stand out.

Re: Marsoc
Blending in with local troops has been done for years.
In Angola and Rhodesia white troops would paint themselves black so they wouldn't be targeted
