Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
did seals roll their bdus up too or was that just a delta fad in the 80s?
personally i would look at this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHRccPbdOGY
similar to tears of the sun but in columbia so sorta like the war on drugs style. just rock it up with alice and LRAKs and LBT1961as stuff like that

I know it was Marine recon, but it was on telly the other night, Good old Gunny Highway and Heartbreak Ridge.
Back to the point though, I reckon you probably can't go wrong with standard woodland BDU's and what ever the webbing was.
My opinion, but remember that back in the 80's or 90's there wasn't the kit avaliable that there is now. Sure these elite groups had their own specialist kit but I would imagine it would have been adapted issue kit ready for purpose.

Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
Would they use US woodland though? (as several people have mentioned it) For a modern loadout wouldn't Multicam be more likely?
Goes by the callsign "Iceman" to avoid confusion with the entire Delta team...

Putting a BB in a silencer then using it as a blowpipe. that's the best.

Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
AOR1 & AOR2 are now the NSW camo scheme of choice (2010) AOR2 to a lesser extent
Frog, BHI HPFU and crye desert tan & multicam were used during the transition period due to the time it took for Crye to produce AOR1/2 combats,
m81 woodland is still used during BUDS/training so i guess its pretty safe to assume its still knocking around, likewise DCU and DTS,
all the woodland seals pics that are knocking around are dated up until about 2000, since the current conflict doesnt really take place in jungles and dense forest up to date woodland pics are very few and far between,
my woodland loadout circa 2000, consists of woodland modded BDUs, a ruined pair of belleville desert boots (black shiney leather boots = fail) woodland boonie, basic LC2 beltline, eagle sf30 chest rig and a lbt 3 day pack.
will try and dig out some pics later

Ezek, can you throw in any more TLA's into you post, I don't think there were enough. First lesson of DW, write the Three Letter Acronym then abbreviate it into TLA!

Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
my bad, used to writing like that, dont think AOR1/2 is an acronyn for anything but its the new desert/woodland digital unifrom for the seals
but the rest i can do,
NSW (NavSpecWar basically anything seals is Navy Special Warfare)
BHI HPFU (blackhawk industries desert marpat combats)
M81 (U.S 4 colour woodland)
BUDs (basic underwater demolition/seals, seal training)
DCU (desert combat uniform, tri/3 colour desert)
DTS (desert tiger stripe)
BDUs (battle dress uniform)
LC2 (U.S alice kit)
hope that clears up my original post

M81 is the pattern, BDU is the cut.
Looks like someone saw the future

Thanks for the link, think ive seen that site before.
While its no big deal at all that site isnt official and in all the years ive been into military stuff the term M81(to me anyway) seems to be just an internet/forum thing and again maybe me but ive never heard woodland called M81 before-you had your og,woodland,3 and 6 colour desert-thats it until these new fancy digicams and multicams.
Again, not a big issue but im puzzled as to where the M81 term comes from

Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
Hi Fella
ERRRM Navy Seals. Kit n Equip a total night mare. I would suggest having a read of a couple of books to get you in the rightframe of mind.
NAVY SEALS and FINISHING SCHOOL to start with, i notice you want to keep yr loadout to woodland, as a few have suggetsed here its a limited theatre of operations in current climate but still doable if youwana keep to 80s 90s theme then woodland BDUs are acceptable. Still cheap n easy to source and hard wearing.
You may also want to consider HRTs again green flight suits but very 80s 90s.flight deck helmets or a protec helmet were common.
The next issue yr gona have is finding a team of like minded people with a common cause and then get yr tactics and kit sorted as nowt worse than loading up and not having a clue how to stack up to do a basic room clearance. All this takes time and its not to be rushed but thats all the fun of it and team working too.
Hope this helps a little all the best with it and dont forget dont rush it.

Re: navy seals load out not iraq..
Just finished a really good 6 part program about BUDS/UDT training and it appears to me that seals tend to modify their kit to suit their unique needs.
Woodland raid bdu's wood be a good starting point and then something that can carry lots of mags!! During BUDS the trainees are firing upwards of nine magazines per range session and discussing carrying over 24 full mags + ammo on a normal op remembering than when SEAL encounter a contact their sop is to over-whelm the enemy with a combination of SEAL fire discipline and superior firepower, then bug out before the enemy knows what hit them and hit them hard.
