According to the statement, this effects all branches of the US military.

To be honest, the statement simply says that there are two types of magazines authorised for use with the M4/M16 family of weapons (there's no mention of any issues being found with polymer mags); so I suspect it'll be a waiting game to see what actually happens and whether such a questionable decision is reversed or amended.

it does say that 'high performance' mags will be banned, and then goes on to say, such as the Pmag. But as you say, waiting game really as i believe the lads on the ground are going to royally kick off!

From what I read, the statement effects the US Army. Also I do not believe the utilization of P-Mags is incorrect for my impression as it is based on images from 2009 to 2011. The P-mag is or was standard issue to the ranger as well. Also @AA: I do have a subdued IR flag it just wasnt on for the photo, I also have a MBITR shell :D however, I use my radio pouch for team comms on most days. Lastly, I have seen the CAPEX photos, and as the rangers move towards adopting the SFLCS kit over the RLCS which would explain the flash-light admin pocket, but moving back through the years I've seen this admin pouch more or less.

Withard - having had another look at the pics, and taking into account the comments that Nun-Chuck posted I think that the TM Recce is possibly an issue - in so much as it lacks an accurate Daniel Defense RIS from what I can see. If you swapped the current RIS out for a M4 DD replica (Madbull for example) and went with a standard flash hider then it'd look more 'real'. ACOG is fine and a little bit more unique than the 553, one popped up in the recent pics from CAPEX 12 so it's kosher. A bit of paint on the gun though would add to the BTDT feel of it. Whilst the plates and soft armour might not be to everyone's liking, I'd run them (and do in my MBAV) as it gives it a bit more bulk and shape (and, afterall is what is being done downrange).

Nun-Chuck - you're rig catches that period over the last 1-2 years where the Regiment has been slowly swapping out kit nicely. My only suggestions would be to add a subdued flag patch onto one of those shirt pockets and to add a MBITR shell. Are you running a sling on the Mk18? Not a real fan of those admin pouches, but after trawlling my reference pics (in particularly the CAPEX 12 ones, there's a lot of admin pouches in use - albeit the other type, with the flashlight bit).

All in all, two good impressions in the building.
@AtomicAardvark Yeah I picked up the RECCE purely due to the deal I had and because I really didnt wanna rewire and add a new set to it with the money I had spent on it at the time. In the future probably. The ACOG is now gone and soon to be replaced with a Elcan Spectre and I just added a layer of OD Krylon to give it a bit more of a grime encrusted look :D

Nun-ChuckThe OPS UDA Trousers I got mainly as I had again a good deal on an item. They seem to resemble the G3 but with more material protecting the stretch material around the knees. I tried to find some Crye AC trousers but I could only find Bid only on Ebay and other places wanted in excess of 230 pounds WITHOUT kneepads

p.s Cheers for the blaster cannon laser gun tips guys :D

          Thanks for the pointers!

Yeah of course mate, was just informing as at the time it wasn't a well known fact and was just informing invade you were trying to stay current. I think your load out looks great. I've never done a full blown load out, unfortunately don't have time for research, and working abroad a lot means that when I get gone most my money just goes in stuff I need rather than what is required to keep a load out accurate.

And so it's happened - the Pentagon's wised up and clarified TACOM's original message: Big Army: Soldiers Free to Use PMAGs

Hey guys, started doing a proper load-out for once, using all of the info on here. This is what my kit looks like so far.

The rig is relatively new so I'm going to field test it first and then decide what other pouches and what format it should have.
Any advice/comments on it are all welcome. I can provide some pictures of what I'm going for but most of them are in this thread.

I'm stuck on what helmet to get though, as I've absolutely 0 knowledge on helmets. Any recommendations?

                Cheers

That would depend on just what USSF branch you're going for?

Primarily I'd be looking at the Navy SEALs. Most of my gear was based around pictures of NSW Operators, I've just no clue what helmet they've been using.

SEALs have been spotted sporting MICH 2000 and 2001. Can also imagine they'd possibly buy their own helmet if it was more practical for them, but MICH is a solid choice.

MICH 2001 would be a good choice as they seem to be very popular of late with the NSW community.
