  • ACU Loadout

    Hey All
This is my first American loadout so please pick holes. I have 2 Stars and Stripes and a Food Service Specialist (Chef) badges on the way.

It seems like such a terrible shame that innocent civilians have to get hurt in wars, otherwise combat would be such a wonderfully healthy way to rid the human race of unneeded trash.

      Re: ACU Loadout

As an UCP loadout thumbs up, as an American loadout lose the SAAV and get a molle plate carrier, and swap the gloves and boots for tan ones, black ones don't quite seen right.

          Re: ACU Loadout

If your going Ranger ACU, youd need a green helmet cover, kneepads, 3litre backpack and molle vest (prefferably RICAS but we all dont have endless funds :p) Black boots and gloves are fine for the ranger look, i wear fingerless black top grey palmed ones for cqb.
Technically all the grey should be ranger green, but good luck finding a RICAS in RG for under £100, with RG patches to go with. Also, what pistol are you using with this loadout, if you have one?
Anyways, this looks grey in the mean time, especially for under £40 (you lucky bastard! :p) but yeh like said if your going rangers, drop the SAAV.
Theres more to it, ie, helmet would need NVG mount and IR tabs band
But that should set you off
Good luck man nice to see another 75th ACU loadout on its way
          Hope that helps

            Modern Ranger loadout

            *Disclaimer
This is a guide. I have researched from other people’s experiences and information. I do not claim credit for everything within this guide. I will try and give credit as much as I can, so if I have missed you out, I apologise, no offense meant. The information in this guide is listed on the internet and should not be classed as fact.

            The Ranger Creed
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavour to uphold the prestige, honour, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One hundred percent and, then some.
Gallantly I will show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically I will meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.

            Rangers Lead The Way!

            75th Ranger Regiment Role(s)

The 75th Ranger Regiment, composed of three Ranger battalions, is the premier light-infantry unit of the United States Army. Headquartered at Fort Benning, Georgia, the 75th Ranger Regiment's mission is to plan and conduct special missions in support of U.S. policy and objectives.

-Infiltrating and ex-filtrating by land, sea and air
            -Conducting direct action operations
            -Conducting raids
-Recovery of personnel and special equipment
-Conducting conventional or special light-infantry operations
            -Assaulting and capturing airfields

As part of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) which is in turn part of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The 75th Ranger Regiment supports Special Forces units and carries out special operations missions, as listed above (not exhaustive).

This Loadout Guide is for 2007-2010 era
Gear pictures belong to me as they are of my gear!

            Clothing
The base uniform in (ACU/ARPAT) comprises of a shirt and trousers, with a tan t-shirt underneath. PCU level 5 (Protective Combat Uniform) jackets along with ACU trousers are what most people wear when wearing the Ranger regiment loadout for airsoft. I would not recommend wearing the ACU shirt with the PCU jacket as you would very quickly get very hot!

            Footwear
Merrell Sawtooth's used to be allowed but according to a serving Ranger this has now been changed to any 8in desert boot. I wear BLACKHAWK! WarriorWear because I like them, my team mates wear Oakley boots amongst others. But since this is our hobby and YOUR ankles/feet wear what is best for you.
I have also got some Merrell MOAB's in place of the Sawtooths.

            Gloves & Kneepads
Gloves that have been seen in pictures on Rangers include Ironclad, Oakley SI and Mechanix. I use 5.11 and Mechanix, I have used Oakley SI gloves before also. Kneepads include but are not limited to ALTA, BIJAN, and ARTREX. The considered “norm” is that the kneepads are black.

            Headgear
The standard MICH 2000/ACH with a Rustoleum khaki 1917 paint job.
I sprayed my ACH with Krylon OD then a few light coats of Krylon khaki and the colour is quite close.
Accessories mounted on MICH include “one hole” Norotos NVG mount, bunny ears (goggle retention straps), PETZL TakTikka head torch, MS2000 strobe.
Black Velcro on the sides and rear and top if you are like me. The previously mentioned strobe is “velcroed” to the helmet.

            Comms Gear
MSA Sordins along with Peltor COMTAC headsets with nexus type PTT have been seen on Rangers in pictures in Iraq & Afghanistan.

            Eyewear
According to a serving Ranger who was in contact to a member of Armies’ forum the only eyewear authorised are Oakley “M-frames” and Oakley “A-frames”.
Since this is our sport and they are YOUR eyes, I don’t think anyone would tut too loudly if you prefer another type of eye protection.

            First Line
Black riggers belt with Gerber multi tool

            Second Line
            RLCS Ranger Load Carrying System
-EI RLCS lo vis Armour Carrier. I have a Eagle Industries lo-vis armour carrier in RG (like PACA)

-EI RG RRV + EI Rear Plate Carrier. The Rhodesian Recon Vest (RRV) with backplate was mainly used for training. The EI PC with cummerbund (Plate Carrier was used for missions). The RRV w/backplate and cummerbund combination has also been used.
-EI RG RLCS RRV Adapters. These are used to connect the backplate to the RRV.

-EI RLCS Admin Pouch. There are two types available from EI the one below is the correct one.

-EI RLCS MAP. This is a MOLLE backpack that I personally prefer to the hydration pouch and breacher pouches. It has plenty of room inside for water bladder and other kit like spare mags & food and your PCU jacket when you’re not wearing it.

-AI RLCS MBITR Pouch. This is the only pouch that is not Eagle Industries on my setup. This is because the Allied Industries MBITR pouch is the authorised RLCS radio pouch.

-EI RG 1/4 Quart Canteen Pouch. This pouch can either hold a, yes that’s right a ¼ Quart water canteen. Or as you can get foam inserts to hold your NOD’s while they are not being used. I use mine for my smokes, wallet, phone etc. (quart being a measurement of water in American)

-EI RLCS Medical Pouch. Speaks for itself really, it’s a medical pouch. I carry a US Infantry individual first aid kit in it which is a lot of kit.

-EI RLCS Magazine pouches. I honestly forgot to mention where to put your magazines…….. These examples are 5.56mm mag pouches. Others available include but not limited to M249 SAW pouches, 7.62 sized ammo pouches.

            For added fluff
Wrist coach, for maps and other important Intel, for quick referencing.
            Safety lanyard (for helicopters)
            Cyalumes (glowsticks)
            Zip cuffs
            Replica IR Callsign patches

            Weapons
The 75th Ranger regiment used the following weapons in the era of my loadout guide but are not limited to:
            M4A1 Block 1
            MK46 SPW SOPMOD
            MK12 SPR
            MK48 (7.62 version of the M249!)
            MK-13 300 win mag rifle
            M240 G
            M9 pistol
            SCAR-L
            SCAR-H
            M24

Andy, you should make a 75th Ranger Impression Guide thread.

Like most say, get some Tan boots and a Molle vest, OTV (Or an IOTV is you have the cash) for that "classic modern" look.

Chris - I was going to but someone on this forum changed my thread to an all encompassing (sp) USSF thread. On another forum that started up recently, I posted my 75th Ranger Impression guide, which I also posted on this thread as I thought some of the advice given out was a bit incorrect.

Just having a browse and found this

                      https://www.airsoftgi.com/images/March07020.jpg

Not too sure, if that's what you're after, but the guys have some kit you might want to get to help improve your look. I guess you could sort of say these guys are 'gear-hogs', - if it was airsoft - and remember: a load-out takes time to build up. You don't just get it all at once for Christmas.

                            Re: ACU Loadout

Well no shi!t sherlock :P Its from an airsoft website and nowhere did anyone claim it wasnt an airsoft picture.

Those guys have some pretty sweet gear, Im working on an ACU loadout of my own, as I love ACU, even if it doesnt work anywhere :D Im going a bit all out OTT ACU though :P

                            so far I have:

Bulle ACU BDU trews and shirt.
Bulle MOLLE ACU Plate carrier with numerous ACU pouches
MOLLE ACU camelback on the plate carrier
ACU "drill cap" - that strange american flat top baseball cap thing
                            Black armour kneepads
                            Black viper spec-ops gloves
                            Black magnum panthers.

I know the black doesnt usually go with ACU, seems to always be tan, but I quite like the ACU and black look. Im thinking of getting a MICH2000 and ACU cover instead of the cap, but I dont really like helmets, caps work for me.

Need more gadgets though, I dont have enough useless gucci stuff for an ACU loadout :P

The imitation helmets are very light, and quite airy. I sweat less with that than my cap. Got my molle vest, tan boots and gloves now. Just got to get some photos up.
