Re: New Infantry Automatic Rifle - How do we get it in airsoft?
As explained in Future Weapons the IAR Is for one purpose. To gice the troops a ;ight weigth fast firing weapon that doesn't come with all the penalties associated with the M249. IE problems with belts and the sheer size of the bloody thing. It also helps the SAW Gunner blend in to avoid making him so obvious to the opp for.
They are only however replacing some 249's not all of them, 249's offer the troops more when real sustained fire is needed. Just look at WWII and the German MG34/42 versus our Bren. A one man box fed weapon just cannot do what a belt fed fast firing crew served weapon can, especially if sustained fire is required.
THe IAR is a great weapon though especially good is the closed/open bolt mech. A sturdy reliable C Mag, if their was such a thing, would be a good addition to this gun.
The laptop is mightier than the pistol.

Good point. The initial report I had read suggested wholesale replacement, I understand that this is not the case.
Oh, and clear out your inbox mate, I can't PM you the details for that M733. :D
