Re: 1980s British Army rifle platoon (understrenght)
Now I am sure I had a s6 in 95-98 as part of the OTC at uni. But I did have PLCE webbing, green NBC but the real heavy weight dpm trousers.
When did they get rid of the Chinese fighting suit!!!
Oh and RafSch, you will struggle to get a RAF regt platoon sorted, a RAF regt flight on the other hand might be easier!!!!

Re: 1980s British Army rifle platoon (understrenght)
All welcome to join.
The real criteria is 80-85 issue kit and 58 webbing, MKV helmets. Your choice between lightweights or dpm, DMS or high legs, jacket or smock etc
Berets are rifle green and the cap badge is available from us.
Be great if you can make it to a cold war game with us and we are going to do a few 'living history' shows in the future.
For skirmishing we ideally want lads to have SLRs but are aware that they are expensive and hard to find so FALS and G3s are ok as stand in. Stens are ok as sterling stand ins (we have two airsoft sterlings in the group though).
At a pinch M16s and Aks can be used as 'in theatre'
We have a group on FB, if you go to face book and look for 'royal union rifles' just sign up there.

If you need any help with sterling parts give me a shout , I'm sure I have silicone molds somewhere for a lot of the parts that can be cast in resin and engineered into somthing useable.

Re: 1980s British Army rifle platoon (understrenght)
A cracking pic, could`ve been taken in the early `80s, I really like the mix of kit. Don`t think I could be bothered with DMS though, bloody things turned into cardboard after a few dunks in a river.

Re: 1980s British Army rifle platoon (understrenght)
Its not 'easy' from a distance of a few metres it will look ok but there are quite a few differences. By the time you've gone to the hassle of chopping up a fal and buying the replacement parts you'd just be better off part exing/trading for an SLR

Re: 1980s British Army rifle platoon (understrenght)
RAF regiment?
Identical to normal infantry kit bar the grey/blue beret.
It's not that much use as a loadout unless you know a lot of games based around defending airstrips
