Re: May be going for this SAS Setup.

I met an SAS bloke last month and he brought along all his kit to show my unit and let us have a little play. He seemed to favour either mtp or multi cam with the built in knee and elbow pads, and topped it off with a DCS plate carrier (he had removed the cummerbund as he wanted the extra manoeuvrability).
Fast jump helmet with a multicam cover and a good old small union flag on the side.

Weapon-wise, his primary one was that Canadian version of the M4 CBQ. It had a angled-foregrip on the bottom of the RAS, PEQ-16 box (tan) on the top and an extra flashlight on the right side of it. The stock you could do by getting a Magpul PTS one and same for the pistol grip, both in tan.

I dont know what radio he had, but the headsets were the chunky noise-cancelling ones which, when actually on, go SO well with the fast helmet you couldn't feel like more of a badass.

Since he was off "abroad" in the next couple of weeks I'm pretty certain this is what he's taking with him. He also had a range of other stuff, including more rifles, pistols (P226 with a ret dot on the top), and one of those new issue Brit army gas masks but I don't think you're gonna be too bothered about that.

I get that your specialised loadout obviously isn't going for the full-multicam look but I'd thought I'd give you a list just incase anything takes your fancy (I'd definitely recommend the fast-jump helmet, oh god it was pretty)

Re: May be going for this SAS Setup.

Interestingly, I've spoke to quite a few guys that had a fair bit if freedom in their kit selection recently and they didn't turn their nose up at the DCS at all...

Just a quick note. You cant remove the cummerbund from a DCS it may flap around abit!! Is the only way to do it up!

On the production DCS, that's true...

Re: May be going for this SAS Setup.

It was more likely a SOHPC with the cummerbund removed. Or a JPC. One of which is issued (and is basically what the DCS is based off of) and the other was trialed.

I believe it was a DCS and instead of the cummerbund he had some straps. I have the same on mine, so it's perfectly possible

Got any pictures to back it up or is it a case of "well I saw it so you have to take my word for it". Because welcome to the internet, where a claim made with out proof is worth less than the electron it is metaphorically printed on.

Do you want pics of his strappy things or pics of his SAS man? Or both?
