Hey guys was just wondering if anyone knew about Dd rails being standard now or do some units still use the original green handguard?

Mostly standard in infantry battalions. Everyone on tour has the rail. Even ITC have the gangsta grip kit now

The navy doesn't have it, hell they've only within the last year got susat.
Not all the RM rifles have them either, I know, I spent plenty of my time doing kit care maintenance on rifles at 30cdo, plenty of the guys also commented that they never had the DD on tour either (a lot of them don't even like it).

Theatre entry standard for Op Herrick is all personnel Army, RAF, Navy and RM will have them fitted. Army weapons keep them on after tour all others are returned to standard handgaurd due to budgetry requirements.

Our armory is still rocking the old green handguards, but our Royal Welsh friends who share our TAC ofcourse have the RIS.

the old handguards are nicer to hold than the ris anyway!

Your crazy you don't hold the ris any ways as you get issued the grip/bipod, when I was a pirbrigh last year the whole amourey only had the green hand guards but then up in catterick the whole amourey had the ris. I think it all just depends on what unit you are.
