Rare Dpm Mk3 osprey body armor

I recently purchased aquired dpm MK3 osprey body armor. I have been trying to find out where this was issued. But I haven't found another on like this. There was a post in anither forum but nothing about it. Does anyone know anything about these dpm body armor?

There was a batch or 2 made just before they went over to the mk4 and mtp. There are a couple of pics of Booties wearing them.

They were basically made to train in the uk with. from what I've been told it seems like there was some debate on whether or not MTP was going to go ahead so these were ordered anyway to enable uk training and allow for effective cam and concealment. As Abbadon says, only a few batches were run.

The only photos I remember seeing were a Navy or RM on the deck of a ship in DPM with a very basic L85 and one of a RM at what looked like a show and tell event at a school.

I suspect this may have been a trail/preproduction run as the NSN is NIV. Seem a bit odd as I have only ever seen Osprey 2/3 armour in DDPM.

I think I may have seen some by typing 'DPM osprey' or something similar, there was a page with a lot of pictures from various UKSF and US units which included a few of SAS/UKSF guys in what looked like DPM Mk3s.

Hapi, I never thought there was one, I as told they were about to go ahead with production, but then there was the gulf war so they introduced the DDPM MK3. But then I found one :p

That's decent Isolate, I could probably do a DPM UKSF load out, it would be pretty unique with the DPM MK3.

Just so you are aware, there is no record of these being issued to any of the UKSF element. If you are interested in doing a UKSF loadout then you need to look at other kit really.
