Just got this through the post today-Bought as WW2 and wasnt made aware that the cuffs had been modified-would have been well miffed if it was for WW2 i wanted it!!!!!
Turns out that the smock was actually used by someone during Gulf 91 and the woolen cuffs are period modifications-FANTASTIC.
Been well used,no repairs just dirty and has faded to almost white.
[
Those cuffs are just standard para smock type cuffs.

Re: Gulf War 1 SAS
Abbadon is selling a 203 combo. having seen it myself I can say it looks like new...
I've not seen 58' pouches on any of the B20 members, but don't take this as gospel.

Re: Gulf War 1 SAS
Shameless plug, but i have a set of 58 that i sas'ed up that might work for you. It includes yoke, with and extra two yoke belt attachments so you don't need 58 ammo pouches. 3 water bottle pouches, 2 USGI alice M16 ammo pouches, a small FFD pouch, and 3 of the armalite magazine pouches the SAS used with 58 webbing. These a have been made from cutting doubles in two, and two of them could use stitching over again on the cut side to re-enforce.

Technically speaking, wasn't Oman a case of training the Sultans forces as oppose to a full out campaign? Or am I thinking of something else? I know there was a bit of rebel trouble but I though the aim was to pass on knowledge.
Either way, desert paint would have been in the stores since Stirling had a bit of an idea with the Long Range Desert Patrols!

Re: Gulf War 1 SAS
Regarding the armalite pouches are they the drop loop ones? And would you consider splitting?
Cheers

Re: Gulf War 1 SAS
Bit of a Necropost I realise, but I thought i'd post my interpretation of an SAS Scud Hunter foot patrol loadout - Dessie DPM's, Dessie Boots, and an Acquired US Night desert parka with pattern 58/LC-1 Webbing and a scoped AR-15.
