Bayonet on the cross strap is something I've not seen before.
I wear my WW2 Brit Airborne gear in the colder weather. It's fun to watch the Multi-cam warriors freezing while I'm toasty warm.
It was an airlanding thing.
Because the small pack is worn on the hip you dont need the shoulders free and its also a lot easier to get to when everything is on your hips.
Got a few pics of lads in the Oxf and Bucks doing it and annecdotal evidence of Staffords doing it which is the unit Alex, Webby, Yith and I are protraying in those pics.

Ah a ww2 themed setup. Now theres something i could get my teeth into.
Have a decomissioned MKii Bren gun and a 303 at my parents. Alas unsuitable for airsoft
.
Has any progress been made on an aeg version of the sten yet?
Only you see...well.

Re: The Big Bad WWII Thread
The ASG or AGM version of the Sten is very good.
http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/produc...oducts_id=6935
It has a reputation for accuracy at good range and is quite cheap. Mags are 50 rounds or King arms does some that are 130rds.
ww2airsoft.org.uk has some useful guides and lists of games.
