Not only helps/stops the helmet cover coming off but also actually protects the edge of the cover from wear and tear for example when laying a helmet on the ground etc.

Also ive found it helps with the MK6 to use a cover a size up from the helmet size as they tend to fit better as the elastics on new covers are quite strong and make the cover rid up from along the rim/edge-if that makes sense!!!!

I used an nbc boot for my helmet. Easy fit. It's partly to keep the cover in place, but mainly when it is raining, it means the water drips straight down off the edge of the helmet and doesn't just soak into the inside of the helmet then down your chops.

Nobody needs the inside of their helmet getting damp.

Just saw one on the bay called "Black Neoprene Protective Helmet Band Mk 6, 6a Helmet"

Go to your local garage and ask for a used/damaged innertube preferrably from a truck/lorry or tractor and bung them a couple of quid if they want paying.

Cut it up and you can make loads-hey presto.

this is an NBC boot over my helmet, bad example because of 6 months of abuse but still... well easy to get an nbc boot over, i would say if you can put cats eyes on then your pretty much qualified to be able to pull an nbc boot over your lid.... also i have a massive bonce and still managed to get it over a large lid.

There simply used to keep the helmet cover on and as said before, to keep helmet netting on. I think it looks really good and should be on all Mk.6 helmets. To one just search web-tex black rubber helmet band and you should be able to pick on up for like £5 at max. The bay with have loads aswell under Mk.6 rubber band or something like that

mk6 sucks, the new one is alot better because you can actualy shoot from prone, mk6 and the old NBC trick is a thing of the past.
