Oh, there are so many of us who would argue with that.
Lightweights, wooly pully, puttees et cetera are for men.
Any opinions expressed by me may not be mine. I don't have opinions anymore. I have a mortgage and teenagers. I used to be a wild, party animal. Now I buy my trousers at M & S.

Looks good mate, on your helmet you still need more scrim. And you need to cover your whole helmet, the front is showing a distinctive solid line, boots should also be brown, as that's new standard issue, apart from that looks very good

The boots can still be black. The three lads from The Blessed 539 ASRM who were on board my boat today were wearing black. The boots thing is being phased in over time.

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
You are correct there are still a lot of soldiers cutting around in black boots, all new recruits are being issued the brown boots and from what I have been told the rest of the army should have the brown by the end of the year.

Boots are very much a personal choice now.
Once you're out of training, you can do as you please.
Lot's of guys wearing tan, brown and black here in uk.

Might you find that Black is still standard issue, you still get 2 sets of black boots with your one set of brown Altberg warriors, Also Brown are for NON ops, Tan is still going to be used and is still standard issue in your Deployment bag.

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
As far as I know the black gortex are only bein issued to use up existing stock, once they have been used all will be brown, but as we all know the army like to change their mind about things a lot. either way I don't think it matters it was mearly a suggestion

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
So, that being said, that nullifies your original post. The boots he's wearing are fine. No need to tell him to wear brown yet. Save your money.
Kuston, you don't live in the North East by any chance do you?

Re: Contemporary British Loadout
It was more of a suggestion in the first place, plus I didn't expect everyone to start trying to argue with me about boot colours.
No mate I'm in the south west.
