Does anyone know how to efficiently remove the elastic from a helmet cover? They've done a proper job in attaching it!

I've always just unpicked the stitches from the inside of the cover. Leaves a few holes over the cover, but they aren't noticable.

Cool, I just thought there might be an easier way, but I guess I'll just have to do that it like that.

I did it in about 5 minutes with a really sharp scalpel, sliced from the outside. Sort of sawed between the elastic and helmet cover. Hard to describe the technique really but it's fairly simple with a really sharp blade. All it will leave it little turns of stitching that can be plucked out.

That's a good idea, I think I'll give that a go. I'm sure my Spyderco will manage!

There have been an awful lot of Mk.4 MTP Ospreys going on Ebay recently...what's the current status on those? Still dodgy to own?

I wouldnt say ok, neither would I say acceptable. Its probably a case of MDP having more cases to deal with than the odd one or two when it was first being issued.

Hmm yeah..interesting. There's been one vest on there for over a month now, at least. One would have thought that the MDP would have taken care of it by now.

At the end of the day, if you are serving and get caught your career will be pretty much over. I wouldnt risk if for a few hundred quid.
