definately agree on that, would rather have comfortable footwear and save my feet the pain then go for "the look" luckily my boots are what i wore in service anyway so its all good, not SF service i might add. where abouts do you play? is it more skirmish or Mil-sim?
mmm...neither one nor the other! it's like Mil-sim, but without realistic-like loadouts. some of my lads try to use gears that stay well together, others are more reenacting, and others don't care about that: just have the team BDU (marpat) and a random vest/plate/chest rig.
our game it's not just shoot & run without a goal, sometimes is really direct action, in urban location, with a lot of fire, but ever using military tactics and movement! sometimes we do some recons, with a lot of km on foot, with compass and maps, backpack, patrol tactics and OBJs to take!
and we play our games in abandoned villages and woods, but ever places in wich have permissions!

Re: My UKSF setups
Good effort mate!
The only things i could mention which may be of use to you are:
ditch the NI daysack for a civvi one like a berghaus munro. No one likes the issue daysacks. Alternatively spray it!
Drop leg holster for your pistol or cross draw holster on your vest as long as it's clear and doesn't interfere with your mag pouches for your primary.
Tape up loose straps and keep pouches/pockets secured, check them off regularly, it looks professional and it's those things that set off the look.
Don't trail comms kit across your vest, stow anything loose away and have your pressel switch/ptt stowed on a shoulder well out of the way.
Shiny karabiner on your vest, spray it black or green matt buddy.
These are just niggly anal things. You've got it squared away and the key as you've aptly shown is adaptation. SF blokes essentially wear what they want as long as it performs, is tactically sound and is comfortable.
Keep it up matey

Nice work. Fingers crossed the UKSF police don't turn up and tell you you have your collar in the wrong place, or the colour of your left toe nail isn't correct.
Again, a great looking set of looks, well done!

Pretty good effort mate, I particularly like your 'Convoy' and Civvie kits, A MICH with PVS21 mount would set that right off

From what I know of that video its the same guy throughout (with differing amounts of kit) and he is an Combat Air Controller (or whatever the official title is) that was attached to the USMC unit. Not regiment but basically specialist RAF with the same kit as "them". He also has an SOHPC on at a couple of point in the video.
YouTube linky? Specialist RAF not RAF Regt? Hmmmm you mean air traffic controllers? The RAF regt do the Forward Air Controller course, as do more Gungho ATC lads. Love to know who else you mean.

I believe that is the footage you're talking about ? It might just be me but does his firing seem to be not terribly disciplined especially compared to the yanks who are using much more selective fire
Edit: IIRC I saw somewhere that this was a SBS team with a forward CAC ( Think that's the name or might be the yank term ?)

Possibly
Also seems to have a grip that I think is discouraged because of malfunctions occurring from holding the mag
