ICS L86/L85 Compatibility Question
21 February, 2012, 17:22
Hi guys
(wasn't quite sure where to put this so mods feel free to move it to the relevant section)
Quick question, are ICS L85 and L86 upper receivers interchangeable? If I had an L85 and acquired an L86 upper, would I be able to swap them over and vice versa?
Cheers
Scott

Re: ICS L86/L85 Compatibility Question
So its really only the barrel and handguard that are different? It's just that I've been offered an ICS L86 for my G&G L85 and while I'd like an L86, I'd still like to be able to 'make it' an L85 if I somehow found an L85 upper for sale.

But to make it an L85 you would need everything BUT the upper reciever.
Although I suppose if your happy with the hole left by the rear grip the Lower could be used as an L85 lower.
But you would still have to replace the entire front end from the end of the reciever forward.

Fail.
Never even thought of the rear grip. So I'd basically be buying the whole L85 in parts then building it myself. That's the road to madness.

Yeah, if your bothered about the hole left by the grip, its everything but the upper, I bet separatley your looking close on the price of a 2nd hand L85....lol
And that's IF you can find all the parts
