Sporting a belt Rig

Hey all,

Since I started airsoft a year or so ago I've worn basic dpm with a standard south African assault vest, all pretty cheap cheap. But I find that I hardly keep anything in the vest and most is just added on and gets in the way. First I thought about a proper tac vest, but now I'm quite drawn to the idea of a simple belt rig.

I'm looking at the warrior plb belt, and then adding literally a dump bag, 3 or so m4 pouches, a utility one for pyro etc and maybe a water bottle. Never used a belt like this and I'm hit worried that I'm gonna be constantly pulling it up and arranging it all the time. Is this the case for people who have used one before? I know you buy the bracers etc for a bit more Molle space and I will at some point, but just want the belt for now.

Any opinions or help would be great, I'm not talkin about loads of weight on the belt just the standard stuff.

For start/stop games you should be fine as you don't need to load it up with too much weight, presuming you're not some skinny 12 year old

I used my PLB belt a couple of times and while it may need pulling up the odd time, generally it's fine, and as you said, you can add the braces at a later date

I may give it a go for a bit! Not looking at having any heavy gear attached to it and my local runs multiple short games, maximum of an hour I would say!

I've moved back to a belt kit after years of faffing about with plate carriers and chest rigs. I use the Blackhawk! padded molle belt with all manner of stuff attached- 5x 5.56mm pouches, utility pouch, frag pouch, radio pouch and holster for my USPc. Might weigh a little bit more than yours but if adjusted properly, will sit just right without the need for constant hoiking up. A belt-rig really is the perfect set-up for fast games or indeed longer games if wearing a pc makes you tired.

Walking makes me tired let alone running around lol

I was considering either the warrior or the blackhawk but can't decide just yet! Do you have to wear a harness/bracers with them or does it hold itself up?

Depends on the weight, i have 2k bbs in a pouch, 2 5.56 pouches, 2pistol mag pouches and dump pouch on my belt and it never falls down, try a belt for one game, see if it holds up if not then get a harness

I used a Warrior, and it held itself up nicely. I think due to the padding, (on both me and the belt )

Can't speak for the blackhawk, but the warrior is a solid bit of kit.

Yeah think I'll give the warrior a go! Heared nothing but good things and as Dave mentioned can get a harness at a later point. In the process of switching to mid-caps so haven't yet got a bundle of mags to load up etc!

I felt the same about a vest, never got on with them, Viper make Molle D-rings for 1.50 each that you can attach to any molle belt to rig up your own harness/yoke. I find that wearing a regular duty belt sitting underneath my loaded-up belt helps to stop it falling down.

I've started to use a belt rig in conjunction with my plate carrier, reason being I was runnin out of real estate on the plate carrier

Ive redesigned the belt to the point where I'm happy with it now, my set up is designed to compliment the vest or can be used independently if I'm gonna pistol only it. My belt has a double pistol pouch, 2 (yes 2, one large and one small) dump pouches and a utility pouch

Nothing feels better at the end of the day taking off your plate carrier and using your pistol

Get the Warrior PLB belt, best £45 quid you can spend ! I've had mines since late last year and it's still running solid. I've never had to stop durning a game to pull it up like the crappy viper ones haha So yeah you can't go wrong buying one.

Currently use an ATS warbelt & a warrior PLB belt in various set-ups of my loadout. Both belts are pretty heavily loaded (4 GBB pistol mags, gas grenade, BFG, pyro and dump pouch on one, the other is similar but will take 6 MP7 mags and 2 pistol mags) and neither I find NEED braces.
I do have a set because they were cheap, but find I don't actually need to use them - in fact if I ever get the braces to the point where there is weight on them, I find it's too high!
Of course, if you're super skinny then you might find otherwise.
