Go the whole hog and make some Spartan Armour.
The 405th forum has guides for making your own armour, Have a look at the pepakura section for models to make paper/card models and fibreglass them to make them wearable.

After playing Reach I got a massive urge to try and make a helmet for CQB although I have a feeling I'd never actually finish it if I started.

evansy thanks for that link i now find myself in my spare time with hands covered in superglue from sticking the pepakura together and covered in dust from fibreglassing and filling also forgot the very P***** off wife who now struggles to get any conversation out of me

Ive also seen a real rifle that does resemble the halo rifle on the weaponolgy program can remember for the life of me who makes it may be FN or Steyr but will try to find out for you. Comes with a 20mm nade launcher to.

That would be a good base or maybe a F2000 modded up

whilst the xm8 is a nice gun, its not a bullpup and therefor not right for the role

G36 k

Optical mount or high scope mounts and scope

M4 magwell

3 burst MOSFET

Maybe have a chat with dorset trooper as he has a plastic vaccum which maybe could solve aesthetic issues.

An MP7 with a fake mag on the side would look quite decent as an SMG replica, and would go with any ODST
Obviously, you'd have to do more to the MP7 than slap a fake mag on the side... but you get the idea :D

From what I understand there's already a conversion kit to turn a famas into a battle rifle. Someone's made a sweet ass looking original style magnum, not sure if it's a working airsoft gun or a project, but the link said something about it being gbb. Also, the tar-21 or similar would be fairly easy (if you have the artistic skills and crafting abilities) to turn into a dmr I should imagine. I'd love to see some covenant weaponry made into airsoft though. That sounds tricky.
