Re: New Russian uniforms and gear
it looks green. green is border guards and the KGB PV Air Mobile troops in the last years of the Soviet Union
red is elite, spetz boys, but they were blue too.
Light blue is known for being used by Russia's VDV.
dark blue is used by the navy.
Maroon- Elite Parade Dress.
most inf units these days will wear blue, light or dark blue, its more of a throw back to the soviet days is the colour coding from what i knows.

Now compare to a lineup of different British Army setups...hmm... if there's one thing our country can be proud of it's our troops.
How much smarter in both stance and uniform do our guys look?

Though I do think that something lacking from our boys' training is mid-air tomohawk throwing.

Re: New Russian uniforms and gear
I do love the newest desert pattern. No idea if it's being issues but it is a sweet looking dessie camo.
Same pattern as the new MTP isn't it?

I like it too but I believe that stuffs been shelved, the MTP is multicam based. I think the actual design of the uniform and the armour is what is currently being made now in MTP though

Re: New Russian uniforms and gear
brits always look tidy.
the yanks and russkies, the great enemies they were, were very similar in look, they always looked a mess.
wasn't until the last 20 years or so the yanks tidy'd up a bit (i say a bit, but they still don't look as good as the brits), and the russians i don't think ever will, in a combat situation, what ever works = use it, who gives a damn how you look if it works. that said this new surpat gear is very western looking, so is the chinese gear these days too, seems all the nations are gearing towards looking the same cuz all we seem to fight are crapy rebels and terrorist.
