im thinking of getting a russian ww2 loadout and carry a soviet flag and possibly charge during a game for laughs hoisting the flag on a pole
what would be the best equipment im sure officers didnt carry the flag was it whoever was still alive
After cheap project guns and various bits of kit

Re: russian motherland charge
These are probably the best kit guides out there that I've seen tbh. Look out for buying stuff off the bay as well.
Summer basic one:

Winter basic (might be hard to run in the greatcoat):

Summer (non basic if you like):

Re: russian motherland charge
Well they wouldn't normally carry a flag into battle so there certainly wouldn't be a designated flag bearer. That went out of fashion in the 19th century. The flag thing is a Hollywoodism perpetuated by propoganda and a few cases where a flag was used like when the Reichstag was stormed. The average frontovik would politely tell anyone waving a great big red target around near them to f**k off. Thats not to say it isn't a good laugh leading an 'Urrah' charge with a banner in the lead but do it as a gag not the basis of an impression.
What you want therefore is just a basic infantrymans kit. Those guides are a good place to start (even if I do say so myself) although they require updating. Its best to first to decide if you're going for early or late war and what weapon you're planning to use and then build from there. Late war is generally easier/cheaper (but there isn't much in it these days) although a little more retrictive in terms of time period.
