Jag, why not sand the slide down with wet and dry 2000 grit
Or there are a few atftermarket slides for the 1911 but they aren't not cheap at all
The ones I've seen are over £100

I'd try turpentine before any of the above!

Re: System 7 1911 Without The Ugly Trades?
Tried to take the trades off gently with some 150 sandpaper, only thing it shifted was the black paint! Some old white spirit I had lying about did not work either.
New plan, sand the whole slide, get some "trades" engraved on there in town (not too fussy about them being spot on!) and then repaint with Gunkote.
In the plus side, 2nd set of wood grips arrived today. I like them 100x more than the cheaper ones, very happy!

Don't I just know it now! Right through the black paint and onto the slide!
Bearing in mind I've taken most of it back... on the close up you can still see the markings! Much easier to see than capture on camera it would seem though!
On a side note... I am wondering if the duel tone slide with engraving would look best now....

I would give it a respray and let it wear back down gently personally, or get in touch with KWA USA to see if you can get a replacement

i would paint it, at a glance it would look like a glock varient with the silver slide lol.
i use krylon paint, as its so thin any engravings wouldnt be filled in, and any spots that do could be scrapped out with a needle.
