Looking to put a folding bi-pod onto my m14 by attaching it to a under mount 20mm rail.

Only ones i can seem to find is ones that fold forward like an l96.

Does anybody know who makes a bi-pod that folds backwards like a g3sg1 and attaches onto a 20mm rail.

    Thanks

You could attach the front folding one backwards. Just mount it the other way around.

                Re: folding bi pod

just bought a 'gripod' today. and i can't say i'm impressed to be honest.

                1. it's big - bigger than you think - fat and heavy, and doesn't look so good.
                2. in grip form it wobbles about and still feels like two peices stuck together. it even pinches your palm, and it's fat and not really comfortable to hold.
                3. it is also difficult to open into bipod form; the two buttons need to be pressed simultanously, which is hard, and it's even more difficult to close again. you definately need two hands to do it, and even then it's tough. a third hand would be good.
                4. it also makes alot of noise opening and closing.
                5. in bipod form it doesn't feel very strong but i can't really say as i haven't skirmished with it yet.

sorry. don't mean to p on the party. i really wanted this too, and although i'm sticking by it - it's a bit of a disappointment. if you're going to get it, see if you can have a play with it first. maybe get those seperate side rail bipods instead.

casshern, dont know where you got yours from, but mine opens instantly from pressing the buttons, is very steady and rigid when attached to a ris rail. Provided that you used the alen key that locks at the rear...

fair enough. i'm actually glad someone's works.
mine opens fairly responsively, but how do you find closing it?
and do you not think it is a huge and fugly thing compared to your normal grip?

                      Re: folding bi pod

Closing isnt easy, but I tend to find the best method is to pull the legs together with the hand on the grip, press both buttons with my little finger and then press the legs against thigh or knee and it snaps shut quite neatly...seen the method on a certain Israeli forces website...

have pinged you a pm re this too fyi

                        Re: folding bi pod

oh ok. still, the button is pretty tough for my left pinkie. i'll have to do some weight training on that little bad boy.
i still thing it's a bit sh!t looking, but maybe with a silencer to make the rifle longer, and a big acog, it might have that sniperey look.. we'll see.
in any case, an m203 launcher is sat in it's place at the moment - which will do fine..

'The big snipery look' like this:

I know what you mean, its certainly bigger than a lot of other foregrips...and the mini one that came with my M7 certainly looks tiddly next to it, but it can look pretty pimp on some guns (imho), especially in bipod mode....i.e. open:

i saw... i might still have the picture... of an M14 full length with an RPK bi-pod on it.

looked awsome, M14 big old rifle, with a big old bi-pod on it, attached round the barrel, i'll look and see if i still have the picture.

yeah this picture is why i went out and bought it.
when i originally came to hk i went to get it, but people advised me not to.
but i saw this pic here and went and got it for a game tomorrow anyway.. then i discovered i don't really like it, and the game was cancelled! damnit!

i'm buying a shotgun to cheer myself up..
