Are Kalash any good?...
8 November, 2009, 13:30
I've always wanted an M16 A4 with the RIS rail, detachable carry handle, etc etc... And Ive found a supplier who does an extremely good deal but the gun is Kalash, now I've heard of them before but not of the quality of their weapons.
So I was wondering, are they a good reliable company who produce good guns or are they a company to be wary of.
Also if they have certain defects like their motors wear out fast or something which is a nusance but can be solved by getting a TM replacement part could you please let me know.
Thanks very much,
Feenix
BTW the M16 is an AEG, before people tell me about the problems with their gas guns. :D Thanks again

Kalash=Dboys
Pretty good guns for the money. Was looking at the M16A4 myself, for my USMC loadout

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
As said above, Kalash are a dboys rebrand. Whilst I've had no experience of Dboys, Kalash have made some very good Aks

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
Like Fizzy says Kalash are Dboys.
Their gearboxes aren't the best and ideally need re shimming and re lubing also the motor pinion gears can be a little hit and miss. My mate has a Dboys M4 and he stripped a tooth on the pinion gear and on my Dboys motor the gear is forever coming loose as it's held on with a small grub screw.

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
I have the Kalash M16A4 and it is a beast, i dont think you should compare it as a D boys as i had a D boys armalite before and it was terrible where the Kalash is an altogether differant animal.
The ROF and range is very good and it performs alongside my ICS M4,also i have not had to change the hop rubber or any of the other things you have to change with clones to get them to perform.
The only small niggle on the gun is the reciever colour is poorly applied but that is about it as the RIS is solid as a rock.

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
Oh wow! :D thanks very much guys i wasnt expecting that many people to reply!
Ive got a D Boys M4 at the moment and its fantastic for me so if Kalash are very similar then I cannot go wrong
Thanks very much Evansy for the heads up on the little nicks and thanks very much to Curlyboy for the low down and pic.
the pic from the site shows it in all black colour but then again it could have been anyold m16.
Fizzy I think were looking at the same site aswell as the same gun
its 'stock out' at the moment if that helps :P And thanks very much for the comparison to Dboys, was very useful.
Oh and Evansy, the description tells me that it has a full metal gearbox, you said that their gearboxs arent built the best, do you mean all of the or the plastic ones?
And Curlyboy, is yours body ABS or full metal?
Cheers everyone,
Feenix

Actually, if you're after some action, the site I'm looking at has them listed as in stock, if airsofting is still one of your hobbies

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
My Kalash RK-03 is very good indeed. Stock catch has broken because it was made out of pot metal though :/,
I have replaced the hop rubber with a Madbull Thunder and the performance has improved a lot.

Yeah 100% :D, I wonder what site you are looking at then, it sounds worthwhile going to ,however I probably wont venture away from the site I'm looking at now because they are offering an amazing deal on the gun and practically everything else. Plus their postage is cheap. Or so ive been told.
Thanks very much mate

Re: Are Kalash any good?...
My Kalash M16A4 is literally all metal, the only other build niggle i forgot to mention is the stock it looks like the QC was on lunch but that is about all.
Here is a pic to show what i mean.
