ER25K - Import Costs?
9 November, 2009, 10:52
Hi all,
I originally wanted to go with the A&K SR-25 and only found one website based in the UK selling them. After many reviews I feel the ER25K would be a much better choice but I cant seem to find any UK based retailers that stock this rifle.
So my question is, How much will I be looking at to import this rifle? - the maxim I will be charged for import, customs and clearance (lets just say I'm unlucky and I get all on them)

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
It all depends on the amount you pay for the gun.
Can i just say from the title i thought you had recieved a bill from customs for 25k lol
I have imported alot of kit for example got an MP7 the other day cost me £60 in charges with a value of just under £300
Other orders in the 100/200 range i would say £30 fees with PF clearence etc and usualy around £20 for £100 and under.
Hope that helps.

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
Okay, Thank you for your help 1st Shooter even though it means more money :D
It looks like the order is going to be around £300 so I could be paying up to half the amount of the actual product. Tax is a bi*ch I suppose.
Thanks Again

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
22% import duty & VAT (that's added to the cost of the item and will include the shipping cost)
£13.50 ParcelForce 'handling' fee

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
on a £300 order £60 - 75 ish.
As m ost international couriers will no longer ship RIF's you'll be on EMS/Hong kong post and parcel force in this country so expect a delay of a a few days to several weeks depending on UK borders. (instead of getting you stuff now and an invoice a week or two later) dont be surprised if they open the package either.

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
Import Duty seems to very much depend on what it is you are buying, I paid 25% duty on a multi regional DVD player from the US a few years back, and a mate paid the same on an HD Video Camera...so just be prepared for the worst.

Re: ER25K - Import Costs?
There is now a service on the official HM Cutoms and Revenues site that will tell you exactly how much you will pay. Also remember there will be handling fee on top from the courier.
