Could this have been the best site in the Country
9 November, 2009, 18:00
Today I have just had some really crap news. I was negociating with a land owner for the use of a dissused MOD munitions factory with 1000 acres of land 300 buildings and woodland.
Following several attempts I have now been told that there will be no civilian use of the land untill it has been re-develloped. As they believe there is Asbestos and muntions in most of the buildings.
If you Google Earth Broughton Moor or follow the link you will see what a fantastic site we have all now missed......BAWS.....
The search starts again...

Re: Could this have been the best site in the Country
if you got in touch with an asbestos removal company and got some quotes etc maybe they might do something.
assy dust isnt tracable so you wouldnt know for years to come.
the guy here have tried getting a few small sites on the i.o.w. only to be stopped by things like providing security 24/7 even tho there isnt any security at the moment.
bottom line is your gunna have to fight quite hard to sort somewhere out, or it will all fall into place some people seem to have a good stroke of luck.

I'd be more worried about the left over munitions than bloody asbestos, honestly, show me one MOD site from that era that
doesn't
have asbestos.
But it is a shame you couldn't use that site, looks like it could've been pretty damn awesome.

Removal would cost a fortune...Couldn't really consider it...That with the fact they recon there are ordinance in most of the buildings....Way too expensive.
Mind you I think the main reason is because the police use it for dog training.
