    Re: Systema

Are PTW's fully upgraded (With the best bits ect.) ? Or just standard, and they can be upgraded if the owner wants ?

i read somewhere that systema receivers break very easily, coz they are brittle....anyway i would still get one if i had the money spare, if you wana know more about them, then try the systema forum....also i think the new revolution mech boxes sound amazing

i dont think ptws need upgrading at all - as good/slightly better as an upgraded tm gun

The revolution gearboxes aren't made for the PTW. They are made to drop in to normal AEGs as a V2.

Firstly Jagillham - you may not have said "more money than sense" but you certainally implied it.

But how about a full metal ICS MP5. (£225). Drop in a complete systema gearbox (£130), madbull tightbore (£30), 9.6v battery (£25), hi-speed motor (£40) plus TM hopup (£20).

That comes to £470, and would be a pretty sweet setup. I'd like to know where a PTW would exceed this set up enough to justify the price increase?
If your not going to compare a £90 with a £1000 gun then why should you compare a £200 gun with a £1000 gun? Remember that systema dont make PTW's for the airsoft market. We are not their game - however as it works on the same principiles as airsft they have leaked into our market.

As Alfer said its about consistancy ease of working on ease of repair (although can be costly) Yes they are more expensive. they are finished to a higher quality than a normal AEG. Systema do reject PTW's that have come out of their factory for not making the grade. Have you ever heard of another airsoft manufacturer doing this?

Upgrades - yes there are plenty out there. are they all needed - nope. However you can have the electronics moisture proofed coupled with being sensible means its fine to play in even the heaviest downpours. The Hop Up - a small mod greaty increases accurancy to a consistancy that bar the wind if its strong the cross hairs on my ACOG are actually where the BB hits.

If you wanted you can go lipo's RS parts etc etc etc etc but you dont need to at all.

On your ICS AEG you have to spend the cost of the gun again to get it near the performance of a PTW. It still wont feel as solid & well crafted - the shots wont be as consistant.

Its down to choice at the end of the day. Like Alfer I can loath mine every now & then. However when they do work - the extra range consistancy & feel just makes it worth while to me espically as they are far easier & simple to work on than a AEG when things do need looking at.

Yep & for the cost of one of them you may as well save a couple of hundred more & buy the whole thing.

If your still intrested - I suggest you get over to the PTW forums as obviously they are more specialised in PTW (and you'd be a fool if you think everyone on there just sings theirs praises).

so far - unupgradeable & one off custom batteries cause major issues.

                    Re: Systema

im my opinion - i can not justify spending £1,500 on what is essentially a toy.

£1,500 is the current zeroone price on their website - though im pretty sure they were £1,399 a few weeks ago and about £900 before that.

to me - spending that kind of money on an airsoft gun is just rediculous.

                    but that just my opinion.

if you want the most realistic airsoft gun out there with all the benefits/drawbacks that come with it then go for it.

                    - would i trade my armoury for one - fuck no.

Seeing as Z1 aint legit Systema Dealers anymore I wouldn't get one from them anyway - ******* are the UK supplier of PTW's - as for the price I know of a far better deal for about the same for a better quality pre sorted one in the UK by probably the most respected PTW guy in the world. I'm just not allowed to link, say or do anything on here as some of the mods dont like me & want rid.

cough you can get them for pretty much the same as a AEG mag now - £100 for 4 mid caps. G&P M4 Mids caps are £30 a pop.......

                            Re: Systema

                            My two pence worth:

If I had the money, I'd go for an Inokatsu GBB M4. Full size and weight, far more access to real steel parts as the dimensions are 100% perfect and it cycles just like the real thing. Mags are expensive, but hey, in this thread, money issues have gone out the window.

I'd love to be able to afford a Systema, but then I'd spend the money on getting a decent metal bodied one upgraded to the max. I don't have anything for or against Systema, I just couldn't justify the cost difference.

As tallbloke has pointed out, these are not skirmishing guns. Why compare them, after all I can get a silent kill with a BB and a pea shooter as easily as I can with a silenced pistol. But, one is realistic within the accepted rules of airsoft and the other is just a real world alternative (blow pipe and dart). If I wanted to kill someone in real life (in a war situation!), I'd get behind them and cut their throat, not piss around making a noise with a gun (silenced or not). If I want to train people with realistic weapons, I'll use Systema. But to skirmish, I'll stick to guns made for the job.

I have heard great things about the PTW M4A1, and I think that is the one I will go for :D, but I also loved the MP5 PTW, and when i am spending that amount of money on a gun i want it to be the right one.
