23 February, 2009, 14:22
OK, i am sorta new too all of this, i've played a few times and i love it, i am slowly getting into it with a freind,BUT do people only play on sunday's, or is there weekend events with big teams and actual tasks, such as hostage missions ect or what ever.
Also do people do re-enacment such as .... D-day just for example ??
Many thanks PIP

Re: re-enacment / weekend missions !!
Yes there are weekend games run by various sites you can try GZ (the forum affiliated site) also TA events and many others.
Some of the other Airsoft forums tend to post these up rather than them getting posted here.
As for re-enactment yep they happen too.

I think sometimes they call long weekend games mil slim, they sometimes have a similar command structure to the military, briefings, ect. sound fun but a friend said to me he spent all night hiding in a bush..:D

Re: re-enacment / weekend missions !!
Many 'Mil-sim' games (hate the term) take place without breaks to try and create a dipiction of war as best they can, eg you cant just leave for a coffee. Mil-sim doesnt have to be, Mil-sim is as open as sunday skirmishes, you can have mil-sim which is real caps only, loadouts have to be accurate, radios must be used etc etc, whole load of different rules. Personally, id happily go and give a couple a try but i dont think it would be my cup of tea
Re-inactments normally take place in specialist communities such as the comerades in arms WW2 group, who organise large events, normally a weekend long, and will recreate a best they can battles like D-day and the battle of the bulge
Weekenders, now that there are plenty of, one of the best being the NAE, or the ground zero weekender, when on the August bank holiday GZ hosts a game of well over 1000 players, not to be missed, i assure you, and its not the only one in UK airsoft, but more than likely is the largest
G&G TR15 Raider XL, CA G36K, G&G MP5A4, Cyma Thompson, APS AKS-74U, Custom TM Uzi, DE M56, WE Nighthawk X2, Cyma Glock 18C
RD Customs MG42, The Bone Cannon And Project Balderdash.
If you aren't laughing, you're doing it wrong.
