  • M4 Sniper

    Hi Guys,

I am considering turning my JG M4A1 into a Sniper Rifle. Would it be as accurate as some Sniper Rifles if upgraded?

Anyway, Externally I was thinking of getting a Silencer, New HandGuard, Low Mag, Red Dot Sight/ACOG/Scope and Possibly a New Stock (Doubtful)

    Internally, I have no idea!

I was maybe thinking of a new barrel to improve accuracy? It is running at about 300fps so it would probably need the power bringing up for the longer range shots?

Any ideas or suggestions for internals?

If I am honest I don't want to spend much as I havn't even gone skirmishing yet. I am more of a backyard plinker and have some little private matches.

I would love to get a nice RIS but they are to much unfortently. I was thinking of a Handguard abit like this: http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/erol/erol.html

It does look fairly long but I think it will look good. What do you think?

I have added some pictures below to show what I would like it to look like (Well, look similar)

So if anyone has any ideas on any parts or advice, Please post on this thread!:D

Probably not compared with upgraded bolt action rifles such as the VSR.
Before everyone jumps on what you should be doing power wise, you need to tell us your site's FPS limits

Anyway, what you want is a 6.03 barrel (Prometheus would be my recommendation) and a better hop. That's going to improve your accuracy and up your FPS a little

For externals, whatever you like the lookof.

Internalswise: there is a thread stickyed in the tech section. The only thing to add to it is that for a dedicated sniper you'll proably want a high-fps spring (check your site limits for AEG snipers) and then locking it to semi.

Wouldnt bother mate, the amount you are going to spend you may as well buy a sniper plus you will still be restricted to 350 fps or your sites equivalent as your M4 has the option of full auto. If you want more range buy a G36, M16 or SR25 Stick a bipod on the front & a scope & you have what is in the picture above.

On the other hand I am selling a JG M4 S System with fixed M16 stock, element hop unit & bipod fitted for 150.00 inclusive if your interested.

          Re: M4 Sniper

I've got a 6.03 on the PSG, have been advised not to go any lower or could run into problems.

My local site's limit is 328 regardless of rifle type, I just ordered an AK that's aparantly 400 out of the box, so I have to change the spring before playing. So the first thing you want to do, is find out where you will be playing most and what their limit and rules are, no point in wasting money getting more FPS and not being able to actually use it!

Go for a decent scope and mounts, the barrel as mentioned, I suppose you could get a low cap mag for more realisim. Swap the stock out for something a little more practical for sniping if you can too.

Having an AEG sniper myself, in all honesty, it's probably not any better than a good normal AEG rifle, but I'm in it for the feel, look and authenticity

**Edit** tac handle on a sniper? :S, that just looks like a bipod, low cap, scope, silencer and you have that look.

Not meaning to go off topic, but a guy at our local site had just bought a G36,the range on it was phenomenal (I had a few goes on it) and it was a C!. But give it time for the spring to settle down (was brand new that day). It was running a little hot but they let him out, suppose they know it will drop.

                  Re: M4 Sniper

I built my ICS M4 as a counter-snipe assault rifle. Only put a few upgrades in it & it outranges most snipers. Not quite as accurate obviously, first round kills wise; but definitely puts the willy's up those ghillie wearing walking bushes!
Internally: New Hop Rubber, H-Hop bucking, SIG 550 6.04mm inner barrel 1J Spring.
Externally: Long Suppressor, Versapod Bi-pod, ACOG, For-sight removed, Ergonomic Pistol grip.

Milzy, That it a great looking gun!

If I could get mine to look like that I will be really pleased.

What power is yours running at? How do you find accuracy at about 50 metres?

Now that I actually like very much, wasn't too keen on those earlier pics but I would use this happily, decent paint scheme helps it as well

Does anyone know if a Dboys / Boyi M4 RIS / RAS forend ( Steel ) or a A.C.M. RIS/RAS Floating Rail (Middle Legnth) will fit my JG M4A1?

Also, What would be the best length RIS, Either 18cm or 27cm? With the 18cm RIS I would have about a 16cm gap between the end of the RIS and the Muzzle end of the silencer. With the 27cm I would have about a 7cm gap.
