Should I buy a gas block for my M4
22 June, 2012, 23:56
ok i dont like the standard m4 triangle sight and i was wondering if i could replace it with something i then found out about the many types of gas blocks available the only thing is ,is that are the just for free float rail systems as i want to use my moe handguard with myn if i get one it would give it a more "cleaner" look to me. if gas blocks cant be used for this is thetre an alternative?
thanks

providing your front sight it removable (some aren't on cheaper AEG's) you can put what ever style gas block you like on it.
simply find one you like, and keep your front hand guard ring in place when you fit it.
this is mine with my MOE grip still fitted;
For Sale!
TM M870 with a load of stuff
A&K massada sniper spec
Chronograph
leaving airsoft so everything must go

Re: Should I buy a gas block for my M4
I think I understand...
Mr Chicken, pretty much any gas block will hold your handguard cap (sits right at the front of the handguard to secure it in place and immediately behind the gas block) in place exactly the same as the standard A-frame front sight does, so yes you will still be able to carry on using your plastic handguards. Just make sure to buy the correct length, there are some shorter low-profile specific block around which won't look right on your barrel, you want a block that's the same as the standard front sight in that particular measurement.
