Re: JG Bar 10 vs TM VSR

Can someone tell me what size the Silencer thread is on a TM VSR/JG Bar?

Also, what length would the inner barrel need to be to reach the tip of the silencer?

      Cheers

        Bar-10 = 430mm inner barrel length.

        G-Spec = 300mm inner barrel length.

I reckon a standard Bar inner will reach the end. Mate of mine has the G spec and it was the same length as my standard Bar with the silencer on.

Re: JG Bar 10 vs TM VSR

Something everyone is missing so far... At the end of the day, unless you take amazing care of your rifle (don't skirmish it), you will find wear in every part of the rifle that has a thread, or experiences friction. I've owned many VSR type rifles, and I've found the biggest problem for me, is the receiver screw holes strip out quite quickly on a BAR 10 (sometimes even on a VSR). That's not mentioning everything else, e.g. The sears, the piston, the cylinder wears faster (not holding the piston as well) etc...
And also, when things start to get loose, those mm's from shifting add up, resulting in the rifle not working. Lastly, every BAR-10 I know of personally has started to fail with in a matter of months (even those upgraded with everything to 500fps) Basically, what I'm getting at, is that even the TM has faults, so I'd say it's definitely worth the extra cash, especially as you can find them in OD now (yummy).

As for running the longer TB into the silencer - if you read my upgrade guide (referenced by 'FortunateSon' above), it should have enough info for you on that e.g. how to support it inside the silencer.

I would honestly say to anyone thinking about purchasing a JG over TM (for a bolt action); DON'T, it's not worth saving the little cash (I've learnt this the hard way, and I've owned quite a few JG's and TM's).

          Hope that helps,
