The fascination of guns...

Im posting this thread because it is so relative to airsoft. Airsoft pretty much revolves around replica guns. So What is the fascination we all have with guns? I myself love e'm, but im not sure why. I'm sure nearly every airsofter likes looking at them, but why?

For me it is the tech side. I have a fasination with machines and engineeing in general. Guns are just a branch of that.

i dunno myself to be honest, as TKOS said, the tech side is appealing, not only that, nothing beats the look on peoples faces when they come round for the first time and walk into a room full of weaponry lol.

Im just a big old lump o' crazy, while im pretty pro-peace in real life, stop real people get hurt, and i like nothing more than chasing down people with a machine gun. I like guns in themselves, i dont like what they do, but, to quote my good friend Sigmund Freud,

To go back to the question.

I like the technical elements of the weapons, getting them just right etc.

I've always been around guns, my father was a firearms authorised cop and I joined up at 16. I had dozens of replica guns when you could just go into a toy shop and but really accurate kits. I had black firers and one of the very first kit airsoft guns in the early 80s.

Seeing the look on my wife's boss's face (an ex-Colonel) when he saw my collection was priceless.

The reason why we do like guns is really something that we have inherited from our ancestors in the stone age, its just ... natural, we are smothered in war everyday and it ends up become a social norm.
