  • M249 barrel

I have a a&k m239 mk1 and the flashhider is not removeable I don't think if it is let me know as it would be a lot easier, but I would like to have a thread on the barrel is there a ca/star barrel which is threaded and will fit a&k?
    Thanks

The flashider is removable. It reveals a 14mm thread.

        Re: M249 barrel

I just had a look at mine and the barrel splits down just after the front sight but that isn't it as there is loads of inner barrel exposed will I need to buy a barrel extension with a thread or does it come off itself as mine won't budge and I can't see a screw.

Yes, the barrel screws off in two points. One just after the frint sight, and one at the flahider. I assure you it just screws off.

try using a vice and them clamps or your ahnds to get the initial break from the thread, can be a bit tight!

                Re: M249 barrel

Just quickly though it's 14mm positive? As obviously it won't come off if I'm twisting the wrong way!

I can't remember. Twist both ways and see.

                    Re: M249 barrel

I have tried both ways and all that has happened is I have gauged the metal because of the grips I was using.

                      is there a grub screw?

                      simple, but annoying

No my bad I finally got it! I used some kind of foam type material that an old rc car came with and it is awesome at giving you grip on smooth surfaces and I got it of without any further damage or scratching so I'm happy thanks for your help guys and it's a -14mm thread (ccw) if anyone is interested!
                        Thanks
