Peltor comtacs

hi guys got myself some peltor comtacs (MT15h68fb) and intend on setting them up as listen only with a mic on the vest or whatever, now ive got the cable with them and have plugged them into my ipod and can hear things fine but when i plug into my speaker mic and use the radio and someone speaks to me its realy quiet and faint? has anyone got any experience with these? or does anyone know what kit i need to just go to boom mic and ptt for motorola 2 pin (XTNi)

you may need some form of signal amplifier, or it could be the sound dampening cutting the radio chatter down, try turning down your radio
