CQB ... with an acog?
12 January, 2010, 14:31
HI,
just looking for some opinions, what do you guys think of a CQB style M4, (with the 10inch barrel and all) with an acog sight? It does have 4x magnification but mounted above the acog is a red dot doctor sight...
So what do ya think? YAY or NAY?
its all about the look but if it doesn't make sense I'll just invest in a holosight for the "original" look.
Any opinions welcome :D

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
well you have the doctor sight so you are covered from the CQB angle with the red dot
depends on the site really - the acog may come in useful for example shooting into second story windows

Pretty pointless IMO although you can get red dot ACOGS

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
I used to use an Elcan with my CQB M4. But it fired at 28 RPS, so not much need to aim

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
thats cool, some pretty mixed opinions. I'll try a game with it and see how it goes...
I guess it may come in handy for when that 1 target is just a liitle bit too far

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
to be honest if the sight unit is purely for looks then a zoom scope looks out of place so instead of making your gun look cool it makes it look out of place
depends on the terrain - if its a site with multiple stories then you could hold off attacks from below using teh acog - or if there are 2 opposing buildings sniping between them

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
i use a crosshair 3-9x40 scope with both my cqb m4 and g36c, some people might advice against it but i think it looks cool and is brilliant for mid range shots. for short range (if you dont like looking through your scope all the time) just aim down the barrel... it's easy and accurate...

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
Sorry, is this going to be FOR CQB or are you just sticking it on a CQB length M4?

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
As Shadow say you have the doctor unit on top. Tha in my eyes would make it a multipurpose weapon so would be ok I guess. Personal preference i suppose

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
Holosights look better and are more useable.
But if you must then a friend uses an KSC MP7 with an acog inside. He swears by it.
Edit: saying that I use an MC-51 with a simmons whitetail classic with dimond reticual and 4x zoom inside. And that works.

Don't need magnification on any airsoft gun apart from a sniper rifle.

Re: CQB ... with an acog?
i dont like any red dot scope devices for CQB.. personally it restricts field of view to much.. better off with one of those reflexes :D

i have a feeling its the latter mate.
in which case - do as you wish.
if it is FOR cqb then i would still use just the irons.

are you crazy? a 4x acog works great on my mp5 and m16 - i can hit targets out to 100m and further so having the ability to track the bbs at this distance really improves my aim
