  • Are Motorola XTR446 Radios any good?

    As the title says peeps!

After 4 radios for myself and mates, heard these come up from searches on here!

We play woodland most, to be fair cant see us really being any more than half a mile apart at any time but game zones could change! Another pull to these ones is they come with a headset kit which is a big plus!

Would these radios be ideal? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Motorola-P...item483880830e

    Any input appreciated

they are good radios but if you are planning on use them in a forest then you may need UHF radios if you can find them

even my kenwood tk350 which state 25km on the box - lucky to get 1km out of them in a dense forest

however ive seen similar radios used at my site and they seem to be great little radios

Thanks for the input! Do motorolas do UHF radios? I dont really know much brands and whats best for what situation, one of the woodlands we play in is dense, the other not so much so probably UHF would be better!

I take it the price will go up too? lol

no idea im sure Motorola will do them

my site has some that they sell to members for £50 - i got a kenwood tk350 with charger and 3 spare batteries for £90

ebay im sure there will be some cheapish ones - mine is ex police issue so we got them cheap

You'll need to use the PMR446 radios, unless you plan on paying for licenses (PMR is license free)

Yea I also see UHF is very pricey lol, are the PMR446 radios different from the XTR446 ones?

How about the moto T7s, worth a look in at all?

Just trying to find something mid of the road that will do the job like!

              XTR 446's are really good,

They work perfectly even in GZW's dense bush when we are far apart, so dont listne to shadow! haha

They can be had for 50 as a pair, with chargers and headsets, nto bad!

The T7 seems to look decent enough. Not had any experience with them though, they're fairly new
